The Aviar and Wizard are very similar discs. Dave McCormack discusses the similarities and differences in mucho detail on his Gateway website. http://www.gdstour.com/ Generally speaking, the Wizard is slightly more overstable, faster, and has a lower profile. I have switched to the Wizard since Gateway has been sponsoring me and I have no complaints. Both discs come in a variety of plastics.

the wizard are a tab more stable and dont like to stay in the basket as much as the aviar for some reason. I think becuase the soft wizards are to soft and the hard wizard are to hard they need to make something in the middle, and sometimes the wizard gets a little wavy on top

Heh...
I never really was an Aviar guy myself, and I've even tried them after learning how to play a more controlled game. It's all a question of feel and confidence, and I can put just as bad with a crappy Wizard as I can with a crappy Aviar.
Now, if you get ahold of a putter that feels good in your hands, that you have confidence with... then that's your putter. Try them all out, find what works best.
My prefrence is a chalky, soft top firm rimmed Wizard. Make it around 172 grams and I'm a happy man.
How old are you Mike?
