I'm going back up to Dayton Friday (as in tomorrow). It looks like I will be about 5 minutes from Sycamore Trails. Question. Can I navigate Sycamore on my own (given my throwing abilities) or should I work my way towards a different course?

I do not think very highly of that course. Given the option, I would go anywhere elce.

You can navigate it ok. If you are talking about literally finding your way around, they have a course map online:

As for the difficulty, you can handle it. Some holes will make you scratch your head, and ask "WHY?" and "WTF!". But it's still disc golf and it's challenging, so it's worth a visit.

It's sort of Dayton's answer to Mt. Airy. It's still raw and it is quirky in some places, but it is potentially championship level as a par 3 layout.

It would probably be more user-friendly as something like a par 60, but it is, by far, the most challenging Dayton course (and 15 minutes closer to Cincy than the other Dayton courses)....Well worth the visit, in my opinion.

I skipped Sycamore to go up and play Belmont. We stopped by Sycamore, but the water and rain from the night before, and there were school kids around. More than I wanted at 9:30. If I wanted to go huntin thru wet trees and so forth, I've got Mt Airy and Idlewild.

A local was there and showed me around for a little bit. Pretty nice.

So sue me, but I like park courses.
