Hey I was wondering if it would be possible to have a page devoted to pictures and videos. I have noticed a bunch of people posting links to other sites for there disc golf videos and pictures. Basicly I think it would be nice to be able to upload some media for everyone to actually see what disc golf in greater cincinnati is about.
thanks Jason Kerl

YEah so I wanted to post some video and pics of the Ace Race and the Day/Glo....................However I find it hard and time consuming to do both while I am playing. So I played and have no pics to show for it. How do you find a happy median? I am better with my cameras than my discs, but enjoy throwing more. Does that make sense? Would other players be annoyed? Do people care if I take their picture while playing? If I am filming a player and they know it, does it affect their shot?

I think at the Ace Race/Day Glo, it wouldn't have mattered much, it's a very casual tournament, at most of the big-time tournaments, there is some type of filming and most people will be upfront with you if it bothers them.

It would not bother me, but you should always ask your group before the round if they mind if you snap a few pictures. Don't wait until you screw someone up and then they have to tell you they don't want you to do that. You also need to keep in mind the sound of the shutter or brightness of a flash. The sound of the shutter can be very annoying if you are shooting with wide angle and are right next to the person you are shooting. Some of the best shot come from a telephoto lens where you are 50 to 200 feet away. This way you are imparting no sound or visual miscues to screw someone up.

I have a JVC digital camcorder that kicks ass now that I know how to use it. It has a 32g hard drive so no sounds of tapes or discs being spun. I think it would be a pretty cool to get some close ups at a tourny for a little behind the scenes. But, I don't want to be annoying. I did a little at the BG Open but I had never done it before. So I didn't know how to work my camera to well and I filmed from a distance.
I've been in contact with DGTV and I'd like to get some video to them of the Cincy scene. Or they can just send me a tshirt that says DGTV and I would be OK. lol Can I make a shirt that says GCFDA MEDIA? lol Maybe people would love to be on it then..........
Anybody dress up for Halloween this year? I was a hippie...... not too scary but my girlfriend looked good in the matching costume!!!!!!!!

Does anybody know if Disc Golf Live is on any cable access channels around Cincy? It is produced by friends of mine up north and has excellent footage, usually.

If not someone should try and get it locally. I ran into a guy in Billburg with a real pro video outfit. He talked like he would shoot anything we wanted for min. $ as long as he was the credited producer. The guy who filmed the BMC missed John's sole ace and nothing ever became of the footage. Bummer! As it has been said, " We learn from our mistakes." Of course, risks must be taken if progress is to be made. My prediction-2008 will be a landmark year for area disc golf. So, let's film it! Dig? Cool.

Chris, Why do you believe 2008 will be a landmark year for disc golf in our area? I would like to hear the reasoning.
