Yesterday I played Woodland Mound due to the high winds. I thought shooting a short course that was resonably protected by trees would be much more enjoyable before work than more normal courses. While there I noticed that #17 basket was broken off at the base....rust related....and someone had just popped the shaft into the dirt behind the paved teepad leaving the basket in an upright yet functioning position. I went over to a Park Ranger and notified him of the situation. He didn't act too eager...so I reminded him that most likely someone would STEAL that basket before morning. He called maintenance on the radio and had them write up a work order. I missed 5 putts from within 10 feet...the wind was still kicking out there yesterday.
