I think rollers have alot to do with what part of the country you are from. I can throw a roller over 400' because I started playing in florida and the ground is hard and flat which is perfect for one. I also can still turbo putt because of all the palm frons down there.

No concrete pads at pride, yeah i was just a nut in a sack back in the seventies. I could see some of the first wooded courses being like pride though. Its like they threw 18 baskets in the woods and said make your way there instead of cutting out a huge fairway, the holes have more of a trail in which you can pray you land. If you make your way through the trees every hole at pride is deuceable.
