Estenfelder... first AM I've ever seen rated over 1000.
Dailey... 941... I think I'm now disqualified from playing Junior-Rec-Am-Female-wheelchair division.
I didn't really look at the others too much. I guess some of my older rounds dropped off and it put me up higher. I gained 10 points in this update with only 2 new rounds added - a 937 and 939.
I'll never pretend to understand how all this works.

I don't understand how it works either. They dropped my first day of BG (even my left handed 838), kept my 984/966 rounds from the second day, and yet my rating stayed the same at 950. What do I gotta do to get down to Intermediate where I belong this year?

I read the ratings rules again. Its a bit confusing and you would probably have a hard time determining your own ratings. They double the weight of your most recent 25% of rounds.
Rounds that are dropped are determined by one of two factors. A round that is 100 points below your average are dropped. A 849 round from a 950 player will not be calculated towards the rating. The second factor is if a round is more than 2.5 standard deviations away will be dropped.
Not sure what a standard deviation of 2.5 would be for you Dan. It would probably be pretty tough to drag your rating down too much in one year based on those limitations. Your rating is based on 37 rounds of play. I bet if your average your good and bad rounds(dropped) your rating would still be pretty high, like 945.

1004..... whatever! I don't feel like a 1004. Maybe 1002 or a 1003. Just joking.

I haven't played in a pdga tournament since July or August and my rating keeps going up everytime there is a ratings update. I know the reason but it still is funny that you don't have to play inorder to have your rating change.

Mike, your rating won't change at all if you play zero events. Older events won't drop off until you've played a new event and then at the next update rounds older than one year of your last update will drop unless you have too few rounds...then some will stick around until you have enough. However, many TD's didn't get their reports in until WAY late in the year...so..we had a few events that weren't posted on our ratings until this year end update. I had one from April that just now showed up...unfortunately it wasn't double weighted and didn't help out my rating very much.
Matt: I was 4 points behind Eric...so I'm catching up...already in 2009 I'm shooting better rated rounds than Eric :) So, I'm catching him more. I feel 2009 will be a good year. All I have to do is remember how to putt when it counts. I'm a 900 driver, 950 mid game, and sometimes an 800 putter....other days I'm a 1000 putter...just depends on who shows up that day. I feel good...recently I destroyed a 1000 rated player on one of his favorite courses...I forget his name... Fakely...Stakely....Stickly...something like that. I missed some easy putts...but I kept it down to 2 putting instead of 7 putting...I hear that's the best way to improve your game...limit your 7 putts.

It looks like all is right with the world as I'm again the highest rated Nati Lite.

Oh crap. Ferrara can no longer play Am. He has accepted cash and at exactly 970, he is no longer < 970. Time to throw a couple rounds, Jim, and get your Am eligibility back.
