GOT GUTS?
Want to learn to play a great alternative, EXTREME Frisbee game?
When: Wednesday, March 18 ~ Time: 5pm
Where: Lincoln Ridge Park (formerly Banklick Woods)
Who: Frisbee Freaks, Baseball and Hockey players,
and anybody else who’s a little “Out There”!
Simply put, Guts is an extreme game played with a flying disc, or Frisbee® of high-speed throws and one-handed catches played between two 5-person teams facing one another on a court 14 meters (about 15 yards) apart. Points are scored by throwing the 110 gram Pro model disc as hard as you possibly can within the reach of any member on the opposing team and in such a way that they are unable to catch it cleanly with one hand. Most catches are made on deflection. Throws will travel between 50 and 75 miles per hour. Whoever catches the thrown disc, throws back. If no one catches the disc, the person who touched it first must return the throw. Games are to 21 points, win by two. This is not Ultimate and it’s not Disc Golf – it’s Guts! GOT GUTS?
No Guts, No Glory! Play Guts once and you’ll be hooked! Call Steve Trauger in Northern Kentucky at (859) 750-7257 for latest practice location. Steve is a Guts Players Association World, U.S. National, and 3-time IFT champ and will lead the practice sessions and teach the finer points of Guts play. We will probably begin alternating practices with Guts players in Lexington – I’ll keep you posted.
For more about Guts, check out the United States Guts Players Association web site at www.usgpa.net, or send Steve a note at steve.trauger@kentoncounty.org.

I did this a few years ago with Steve and it was a blast... just don't let him have open practice on you ;-)
