I drove past Discworld yesterday and it's boarded up. Discworld was the first place I saw a golf disc back in the mid to late eighties. My uncle lived down the street and I would go in just to look around. When I was younger and more interesting, I bought a lot of skateboards from Doug.

Over the years that store had really been phasing out the disc golf and focusing on the skateboarding stuff. His disc selection was limited and pricey. Funny thing is that I can remember when Discworld was up on Hamilton Ave and the disc thing referred to vinyl lps

Too bad...When I was a kid, that was the coolest store around. I'd save up my allowance forever just to get a new set of wheels, bearings, or colored grip tape for my skateboard. It was also the first place I ever saw a disc basket or discs.

I was a skater's island guy myself, but still sad to see Disc World go.
