Right now, I wear 2 differnt shoes when I play. I wear a skate shoe on my left foot cause I still sometimes drag my toe. I've ruined a lot of tennis shoes/running shoes like that. The toe area of my skate shoe is about indestructible. For my right foot, I've got a nice light shoe that doesn't hinder my pivot like a skate shoe would.

$20 running shoes from your choice of cheap department store. You wear them until people start looking at you funny..then buy another pair. I go thru about 5 pairs a year and I play more than 99% of the people here.

I have a pair of Salomon shoes that I got in March and love them. They are lightweight and grippy in all conditions, and their cable lacing system is wonderful. I did notice this weekend that the sole under my left-inside toe is starting to peel away though. I hate to see them get destroyed so quickly, even if it's because of my own bad habits. I really did expect more since their ski boots are practically indestructible.
