My guess from reading the details given from the link Cyrus posted is "No", it is a random doubles, two pools, adv and amatuer (I am betting pro equals advanced) and teams are created at random from one person from each pool.
Here is the information posted at the buckeye site:
May 3, 2009
Tee off @ 1pm
Sign in @12:15 to 12:45
- Buckeye Disc Golf Club Proudly presents it's first annual randow draw doubles outing. 2nd Outing of 2009!!!!
- Everyone that is playing will put their names on a piece of paper. All names will be place in a hat for each division The names will be drawn out one by one . There will be one player on each doubles team from Advandced and one from Amatuer division. The first and second names drawn are on a team. This will go on until there is no more names left in the hat!!!
- There will be a $20 buy in for each team ($10/person). Pot will go to top three places. The teams will split the money
- There will be a players meeting before the round to choose the partners and to go over course layout and rules & regulations.
- There will be a $3 buy in for the ace fund for all 24 holes. If no one has hit an ace at the end of the round then there will be a C.T.P to determine the winner of the money!!!!

I think I may go to this. It's just one round, and I don't have to wake up early, so why not. I'm an amateur right? I wonder how that's going to be determined?

Bagger! It sounds like an A pool B pool thing. But they don't expect a bunch of unknown locals.

My partner and I shot -11 to win. 2nd was Kuhns with -6 after a 3 team playoff that started and ended with Hole #6. Kuhns also took the ace fund with a CTP. It was a fun time. The field was about half local guys and I'm guessing there were about 8 to 10 teams.
