Went to Oxford today and I was disappointed with the course maintenance. There was trash and bottles scattered all around the holes. The course is on a campus it should not be hard to students out and cleaning up the course. It is such a beautiful course to see getting trashed.

Never played it but as you say, 'It is on a campus' and that can mean junk everywhere.
Not expected to hear that at Oxford but it can happen.
Did you have a map of the course of have you played before?
Is it worth the drive to play?

Oxford was used for the 98 worlds, it's worth the drive.

Yeah I would like to hear more about that story as well. I have been to Idlewild but not played it.
If it is a pro course, how can a college be a World Championship course?

Oxford was in 98 worlds, but the layout was a lot different. Not so many easy birds on original holes. Winter is not even over they will clean up. And when it gets warm the true beauty of the course comes out. The women! The course is also worth playing. Still has some great holes.

yes, I agree the best thing about oxfords course is the women..great scenery, course is decent too

Me and 2 others played Oxford today. It is becoming a different course. They are chopping down ALL the under growth. The first I noticed it was when I was at hole #2 basket, I looked across the street and hole #3 tee was exposed. When I got to 3 tee I could see all the way to #4 basket. #4 is cleared out. The trees in the middle are still there but everything else is gone. There's even a RHBH hyzer shot now, but it's not needed. I threw a turn over, it skipped under the bridge to the other side. They were working on holes #5&6 when we were finishing.
Hole #16 is now a straight shot.

Yeah, It's definitely a different course, and I would imagine with the new set-up there will be a new course record whenever the next tournament is. The course no longer requires certain shots. It allows for a more varied game play, but still requires you to be precise on your distances. Hole 7 is now mostly clear by the basket. I'm confident by the end of this school year I'll have posted a 12 down with the new conditions. It's that different.
