I don't see why not. Have you heard otherwise?

I don't see any details on here, that's why I'm asking.

Any details for the newbies that would like to experience this tourney? I've met several first-year players that have expressed interest in this tourney and playing all of the CCS events as well.

The tourney will have the same costs as a normal CCS. Signups from 9:30 till 10:30 with 11 am tee off, break for lunch, two rounds, bring wood for the fire and extra cash for 2012 parking passes...$10 annual..$3 daily. No non-member fee's for this event.

I played Winton the other day to check out the course since trees have been removed. I say we call this tourney the Deuce Bowl

Maybe they could stretch the course out a bit. Back in the day when Winton was always the first Course Challenge, hole 1's tee was right in front of the restrooms, hole 9's basket was a little longer (out in the open) or even combined with hole 8, 10's tee was right behind the restrooms, and then several "real" holes were added out in the open on the other side of the parking lot.

Stevo - are you volunteering to help run the tournament and do all this stuff to which you are referring?
I vote for tradition and stick with regular old Winton Woods - it's always been a Deuce Bowl. Plus, the Bengals are now playing at 4:15 and it'd be nice to be able to watch/listen to a little bit of the game.

I will second the Deuce Bowl Idea. It has also been one of the tourneys that new players join. This keeps it easy.
If we have a smaller turnout then maybe we can lenthen a few holes. 1 and 10 would be the ones that I feel could be done quickly and easily.

Having played the course about forty times over the last two months(pre and post cutting) I don't see significant change. The trees that have been removed barely make hole two easier and slightly make 16 easier. It is still a cream puff of a course, perfect for the post hangover and pre-tailgate crowd. No changes are needed unless we have over 150 show up. "30 birdie lock" is still on the table for those monster Pros so inclined to do so.

I know this idea won't be popular, but we could shorten #12 to eliminate the massive backup, add a couple holes, and still finish faster than normal.

If we shorten #12 it would help with the backup. It would also have less issue for hole #11 interfering. My question is where would we add hole that would not be out of flow? Also if you only have around 60-70 people it would not make the groups that much better, foursomes at Winton works nicely.

weather update: chance of a morning shower and the high of 47. If this holds true, I would assume we will have a huge field this year.

I have a trunk full of discs (Won in tourneys and bought over the summer) including putters that we (My son Jeremy and I) will be selling for $3.00 each. We will get to Winton Woods around 9:30 if anyone is interested.

Tony, Adam and RH Drew did a great job today running the tourney. The conditions got worse (Colder) as the day went on but at least it didn't rain during the tourney.

It was only windy on a couple holes, actually not too bad at all, except for a little mud. Thanks to Tony and Drew for running the tournament and getting us out of there early and to MadMike for his locksmith duties.

While I would not expect this every time, the results are up.
