I was at work today (dick's sporting goods) and noticed we started carrying Innova bosses in star and champion. When i was looking at them i notice one of the champions had a lot of air bubbles around the rim yet weighed 175 according to the bottom. The stamp did not indicate that it was blizzard plastic but the more peculiar thing about the disc was that the rating (according to the stamp) was 13, 5, 0, 3 instead of 13, 5, -1,3. I know discraft molds vary in stability sometimes depending on plastic but i've never heard of Innova doing this. My guess is just an error in stamping process but the real question is, are discs like this one more valuable or would it be more like a factory 2nd?

All of my champ bosses purchased since last year have been 13,5,0,3 but the air bubbles at 175 weight that is very interesting . I would purchase and take it to a scale very peculiar mystery.

Often Innova has air bubble defects even in the old school CE candy plasitics from 2000ish- I've seen two of these shatter in the past two years. I'd say those should be factory 2nds(X outs) but Innova quality standards aren't the greatest.Discraft is much more consistant than Innova especially when it comes to accurately weighing and labeling. I throw 80% Innova so this isn't an issue for me.
The bubbled disc likely wouldn't be any more valuable than any other.

The reason the bubbles are in blzzards is to maintain shape (for flight charachteristics) without the weight. Blizzard plastic is like bird bones structure with air bubbles to keep it light. Look at Innova's site. http://www.innovadisc.com

I recently picked up a 175g champ Boss and it does have air bubbles in the rim (much less than blizzard plastic). The weight feels right and is plenty stable unlike the blizzard Bosses that I have thrown in the past.

Innova is using blizzard technology in more of their Champion discs now.  We've got some Blizzard Dominators right now that go up to 172g and some Ice Bowl Blizzard Boss 175g. Some of the discs you can see bubbles, some not at all.

It made me really curious because it wasn't stamped as blizzard (we don't even carry blizzard, but we have expanded our selection due to the growth of the sport in this area, although I would still recommend supporting small local business like The Nati or Disc n Dat) also Innova classifies the Boss as 13, 5, -1, 3 so that also sparked my interest. I figured it wouldn't be worth and extra.

my friend says that the champion bosses he has bought recently have been marked 13 5 0 3 and the stars are marked 13 5 -1 3 so i guess the champs are alittle less flippy
