Chris is def not trying to run a competing weekly event against your bounty hunters. This is a one-time tournament, 2 rounds, with a full size buyin. Just like any PDGA type tourney that may run on a weekend. Sorry for any confusion, I was simply trying to help post his info for him since he didn't have internet and was trying to run a tourney this Saturday.

Fred everyone knows that you have your goofy weekly thing at Mt. Airy. If someone wants to run something on a Saturday or a Sunday and post it on the forums that is there business. Everything in Cincinnati does not have to go through you, and honestly playing the same course every weekend makes for boring golf. Some people just don't agree with paying money for an ace fund then it get used for bounties on holes that are hard to score on with 2 good players paired up together.

Mike, you must be in the "hate" mode of the "love/hate" relationship you have with me. If I recall you above anyone has benefited from the events I've run. A couple of aces for about $600.00. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
Anyway, people have options and events are going to conflict. I'm just putting my events out there so that those that don't want to compete in a BYOP doubles can still enjoy a day of competition.
Bounty's on holes is a good way to give the money away since aces are rare at Mt Airy. Last weekend I gave away $160.00 for bounty's on #3,5,11,13 and 16(so much for your theory). If you don't like the events I run, don't show up.

Not hating, just saying every time someone posts about an event in Cincy your quick to say something about your doubles. We all know you run the doubles.. And thats why I choose not to show up.

So by this theory you have no problem with anyone advertising their events in your threads when you promote birdie bashes or the Big 3? try viewing it from the otherside

For future reference from David Whitehouse, Boone County Parks. "If anyone wants to run a disc golf event at Idlewild they must contact the park office about your event, rent a shelter and have proof of insurance". The club, Dan and I have to do this as well(which we already do).

Pretty sure it was just one division for Pros and one for Ams. Not 100% sure though. Hopefully someone else can get on and tell you.

Yea only for the bigger tourney's, but if we want to meet by hole 1 and have little gathering for the day we don't have to do that right?

That's right Jeff. Small casual gatherings are ok, like Drews Sunday $5.00 random draw doubles.

Ok it should be the amount of poeple not how much $ is in the pot? No reason to get a shelter and insurance for under 20 people..So if I show up and want to play for $100 with 5-10 ppl I gotta get a shelter and insurance? It should be the amount of ppl right? Just trying to clear this up for are local disc golfers..

I have a feeling this is heading down a road that most of us wont like the outcome. I mean really gambling is illegal in all city, county parks and what are we really doing? If its penny slots or high stakes poker its still gambling. This is the reason why Monday doubles at woodland was cancelled. Thing is the parks are rarely aware of the weekly things that we do at the park. A bunch of guys show up and pay in and play, No one thinks anything about it. Now if we start asking what the limits are then the parks has to answer and their answer could be something we don't like. Its not like you cant still do the events with little chance of getting caught, unless someone tips them off.

Yea I could care less I just think it's funny how Fred is all worried about it..It was a one time deal it wasn't like they run tourney's all the time at idlewild...But let Fred do what he does he has all the power..

Gambling involves games of chance not games of skill. There is no wagering going on so that is not an issue. Slots and Disc Golf are worlds apart. The insurance scam is sad because liability for Disc can't be much. The parks have insurance already so why aren't we just paying part of their monthly premiums instead of getting event insurance.
