I haven't been out to the course in over a week. Kind of burnt out on looking at it. I did some serious trimming on the right side of hole 12 (ridge). Steve Walker emailed me and said he ripped out some Autumn Olive trees on hole 16 making the right side of the fairway wider and behind hole 8's basket. He also found Ryan McMath's disc. Send me a message Ryan and I'll send you Steve's number. If I get bored this weekend, maybe some more crap will get trimmed.

Greg, in case no one else mentions it, I want to make sure you know we DO appreciate everything you've done out there. It's an incredible amount of effort, and a real fun course to play. Thank you!

I hope folks will make the trip out regularly to help 'weather in' the course with foot traffic. Those who've seen Osage Grove get better and more manageable with traffic can appreciate the effect this has on 'civilizing' the rough.

Thanks Jeff! It's been a lot of fun, especially the day we finished the last three tee pads and went over to Dunham Rec Center to play a celebration round! There are some diehards playing the course (with long pants), and I hope this fall it gets pretty busy. Maybe this Saturday we will hit hole 13 hard.

The transformation Osage Grove made in a year was amazing! It is really a great place to play. While Cedar Sentinels will never be an Osage Grove, I expect the course to have way less weeds and more regular mowing next year. Maybe even a PDGA league. Building a course makes me appreciate all the work that went into other courses.

2017 (When the field comes off CRP): Parking Lot and Hole 18 "Tin Cup" shot! Either lay up or go for it across the water! That is the goal. I have a feeling a temporary parking lot is going to have to be squeezed in where the picnic table sits in the mean time.

Huge thanks to Tony and Jimmy Vincent for cleaning up Hole 13 today! More trails got mulched and hole 10 got a makeover.

Yo greg, the herd and I are coming out this sunday. I was wondering, how do you think the temporary parking lot will hold up after all this rain?

The area tends to dry well. Looking at the forecast, if it has stopped in the afternoon, you should be fine on Sunday.

Yeah it does drain extremely well.  Before the course opened, we installed some serious drains to route the flow of water off the course.  Threre's one right next to hole 3's basket.  It was a lot of work, but worth it!

Parking closest to the treeline is the safest.  Plus, we can use the driving range (Mulch pile to practice basket) without errant shots hitting cars!

The sinkholes keep the course drier than most courses, but could pose a problem when the park decides where they will add ponds after the field comes off protection in 2017. If you get a chance to wander west of hole 7's basket (between 7's basket and 11's teepad), a massive sinkhole was found in that area! Too bad none of them fill up with water like The Sinks in Chattanooga!

Bag Tag League this Saturday at 1pm. I have some ghetto tags made up for #18+. May even add some pink to those. Only have a few of the good ones left.

Also, the local boy scout troop will be on the course in the early morning earning their Frisbee merit badge if you want to join them. Always fun introducing new players to the sport. Heard they may play the beginner 9 (Holes 1 thru 7, 17, and 18).

Members of Boy Scout Troop 637 from Aurora, Indiana came out to learn disc golf and play Tony Vincent's ace race version of Cedar Sentinels. Tony introduced them to the basic rules and techniques of the game before they played the shortened "beginner 9" (1-7, 17 & 18). Deuce Newton refrained from hustling the kids for their lunch money.
The boy scouts rewarded us by grilling out burgers and hot dogs which were much appreciated. Pics are at the SE Indiana Disc Golf Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1501051543480467/

Jeff Worley successfully defended his #1 tag today, and even put it up for a playoff with the 5 player tie for first. He sank a long deuce putt on hole 1 to keep the #1 tag. Thanks to everyone that came out!
