The 2008 Ace Race Day-Glow Mini Golf is on - it is scheduled for October 18, 2008 at Boone Woods. I'll have the details, flyer, etc. up here soon. For now, it will pretty much be the same as last year: 2 Rounds of the Ace Race in the morning, lunch on your own, 1 round of disc golf in the afternoon, a cookout and mini golf after that and one round of glow golf; then we head over to Gold Star and get some chili, coffee and awards. The course will probably be the same as last year, but there is a possibility the newly designed course will be in. Either way, we are on!

Definately one to look forward too! I was wondering why this isn't listed on Discrafts Ace Race events calender. http://www.discraft.com/events_acerace_08.html

Take a few discs out of your bag grasshopper - it is getting too heavy. We just got the ok for the event and haven't had time to get all the other stuff completed yet. We will have it done by the end of the week. Thanks for the interest and spread the word.

Great event... I would highly recommend playing in this. It is not very often that you get to play mini golf and at the end of the day you will be asking yourself, why don't we play more mini golf? It is a blast. The mini course used last year was awesome. It had elevation, water, and some major distance. How far can you throw a mini? I hope it works out so I can be there again, Dan.

Yeah mini golf is awesome... one of the most fun rounds I played at Worlds this year was mini :)
Hopefully I can make it down for mini and glow... two of my favorite kind of rounds!

The only deadline for the Ace Race is 10/8/08 to ensure you get the complete Ace Race Package. Signups after that date may only get one disc the day of the event. That's because we have to pre-order the packages and we don't want to turn anyone away. We have people who will donate one of their discs for late signups. So we will take signups through 9:30 a.m. the day of the Ace Race. I do order extras but like last year we had a tremendous day of turnout that hadn't pre-registered.
There will be a late registration fee for the Day-Glo event. Any signups after 10/15 will be $30. We need to have time to get discs, food, prizes and all for you.
I know $50 may seem like a lot but here's what you get in return: 2 Premium Discraft discs, Discraft supercolor mini, Discraft hat (that's worth $55 right there), a commemorative disc with Day-Glo stamp a glo light for your disc, a cookout (for those in the Day-Glo event), mini golf with prizes (free to enter if you enter either of the other two events - however it is played in between the day round and night round of the Day-Glo event), lots and lots of fun and to top it off we have prizes for the Day-Glo event for 40-50% of the field. Oh, did I say you get to play disc golf all day and night! Awards will be at Gold Star.
I'm attaching a flyer. Any questions let me know. File Attachment(s):

Dan, Will we be able to sign up online at anytime in future for the day glo? And yes, Dan is right. This is the most fun you will have at an event until this time next year. If you have never played competitive disc golf and you are on the fence this is a good warm up to play in more competitive tournaments. Very laid back and all about having a good time. Go ahead and jump in and get your feet wet.

Ok, I've got the online signups ready now. You can go to www.discndatonline.com/cpage.cfm There is a $2 Paypal Convenience Charge for each entry. If you run into any quirks (that's with the signups! - not just in your everyday life) let me know - I'm not the best at doing the computer/website work. I would appreciate early registration as it helps in knowing what to order as far as Ace Race packs, discs and lights for the Day-Glo and food for the cookout.
Just a reminder: for those signing up after 10/8 for the Ace Race, we may not be able to have complete packs for you. We will have atleast one disc for you and you will get the rest of your pack in approximately 1 week to 10 days. Last year we had about 30 signups the day of!
For the Day-Glo, those registering after 10/15 will incur a $5 In-Convenience Charge for a total of $30.
As always, we'll have prizes for the Mini Golf and the Day-Glo. Awards will be at Gold Star after the Glo round.
Any comments, suggestions or just plain jibberish, let me know.

Say, I saw "Ace Race" on the events calendar but from that nobody would know that there's a Glow event there as well...

Thanks Paul. I forgot about putting the 10/18 events up there. Someone else must have put the Ace Race up. I've got them both updated now. Thanks again and hope I get to see you soon. It's been awhile.

Ok, signups are coming in pretty good now, but I'd still like to get a better idea of how many we are going to have for these events. If you're just hanging out there and plan to play in any of the events of that day, please pre-register as soon as possible. It just helps so much to have an idea of how many discs to order and the amount of food. Here's the link to signup online: http://www.discndatonline.com/cpage.cfm?cpid=480
