I have a few questions 1) Is there any way that I (Matthew Nienaber) can catch Abby in the points since I didn't play Mt. Airy? I think he has 49 and i have 34 or something close to that so I thought it would be fun if there was a feasible way I could beat him so that I could let him know about it 2) Actually now that I think of it only one question...

Matt, for #1 chain_shaker is correct. To be the Icebowl Krazy Series Champion you must participate in all 3 Icebowls. But you can come on out and beat him on Saturday and let him know if you played all 3 you would...
For #2, I can't think of the answer for that one. See ya on Saturday.

yeah I wasn't suggesting I was going to win or anything I was just interested in the possibility. Stinks I missed Mt. Airy...had to meet a DJ for my wedding (trying to get as much done before the weather breaks). My wedding is a week before Disc and Dat so I figured if I put the effort in there early I'd get the OK to play (fingers crossed!)

Do you have to play in the same division all 3 times? I played novice at Mt. Airy, I wanted to push myself at Banklick so I played in Advance, if I play Idle/Boone in Am...how would that work?

Adam, unfortunately you have to play in the same division all three. Sorry, I thought you knew that or I would have said something to you at Banklick. That's just the way we've played it in years past.
Matt, I will have Grooves on Saturday and yes, we have the Innova version of the shamwow. I'll bring some.
Looks like it is going to be a great day for disc golf. This will be the last time to play Idlewild this year so you better come on out tomorrow. Thanks to Lee for working on getting the snow off of the teepads at Idlewild. I know we need one basket for #7 at Boone. Does anybody know if we need any others for out there?
Just joking about the last time for Idlewild this year - I'm not sure how long it will be closed but it will close after tomorrow until further notice. Check the message board for updates.

We cleaned off both long and short tees today...and it will be warm tomorrow...so maybe we can talk Dan into letting Open and Open Master/GM play the long tee/baskets. Time shouldn't be that big of a factor since we play Boone for round #2. Several people walked the course today and it wasn't at all muddy or anything...it was just snow covered.
Masters and GM have been combined for the previous two events...so they will have to stay that way to crown a champion.

WOW!!!What a great time!!! Being a noob to this I was really nervous getting out there even though i knew this was a really relaxed tournament. I want to thank Ty(hope thats how you spell it), sam and chris(I hope that was his name) for bearing with me and letting me slide on some noobie things i did. These guys were great and really helped me with how to play the game and course ediquette. I really want to thank Ty for sliding down the hill and grabbing my disc from the ragging creek, that was awesome . I am sorry that i could not stay for boone but the wife needed help with some birthday items that she was getting for my son so that came first.
For anyone that lost disc's in the creek i walk idlewild with the wife and kids all the time and i will definitely make some special trips through the course to see if I can find any. If I do i will post it on here!
Dan from disc' n dat thanks for getting me in the tourney I had a great time.
I think with what these guys taught me i hope to get in a few more tourney's this year. THANKS!!!!!

Anybody else wanna share how the icebowl went? Who won, any aces, any shenanigans?

It was fun despite sloshing around in wet shoes the whole day! Drew Miller won Open handily. No aces. Shenanigans included about 2 lost discs per person on average. Eric Simpson apparently went scuba diving the next day and recovered 42 of them.

62 total - 42 at Idlewild and 20 at Boone. Probably close to that still missing from the sound of things. The rest at Idlewild probably walked off with some casuals while we were all at Boone.

On #3 I was putting and I over shot and threw my APX into the creek and it started to get carried away by the water. I had already lost 2 discs so I dove into the creek after it and Adam J had to grab me so I didn't fall in but he wasn't ready for it and we both almost went in. I had to roll out onto the bank in the end, though I did save my disc.

I'm really pretty busy here this morning but will try to get the scores up a little later with results from Icebowl #3 and the Series results. It may not be until tomorrow. I will say it was one heck of a day. As someone else, said wet, soggy and lots of lost discs. But thanks to Eric and his wife, lots of found discs now.

Sorry it took me so long to get the results to you. They are attached with scores for Idlewild/Boone and another attachment with the Series results.
I am happy to say that the GCFDA raised $2950 for Fairhaven Rescue Mission. In the current economy I think that was a really good showing. I'd like to thank everyone who donated or helped in any way to make this a huge success. A great job everybody. File Attachment(s):
