On the topic of AJ Jolly. I am sure someone is aware, but the new tee pad still has the iron bars attached.
I like the new holes and the tee signs.
I went over there Sunday and played with 20 mph winds out of the EAST. There is a real treat.

I talked to one of the maintenance guys this week. He said the wet weather has kept them from fixing the tee pad, but he would let Dennis know. I'll be up there the next day or 2 and check on it.

The forecast for Saturday is looking promising!!! Come on out to AJ Jolly for the Course Challenge - at lunch, we will be grilling up burgers with the fixins, chips, cookies and sodas - all for $6 - the $ raised will go towards the Disc 'n Dat. If you've never played AJ - the restaurant options around are limited, so don't waste your gas driving somewhere, sit back, enjoy the weather and eat there. Remember - sign-up by 9:00 - tee off 9:30. Hope to see you there!

I've been trying to contact the parks department/ranger station, etc for about 3 weeks now to make sure the gates will be open on Saturday morning, I've left several voice mails and sent an email with no response. When I tried to call today - Dennis is out of the office until 4/28. Will anyone be going out to the park before Saturday to give the notice?

The gate has been open the last few weeks. including last weekend. This time of year they usually keep it open and don't charge admission in order to accomodate the little league ball players. I'll see if my stepson can swing by tomorrow and double check.

What shelter will sign ups be at? Also has anyone ever encountered people fishing that made it difficult to play. Yesterday a group was right in front of two's pad, i was nice and said were shooting across there and ask if they would move for a moment. Dude blew up and was trying to start a fight, we just threw over them and kept playing. Never encountered this before out there most guys move out the way and a few seem really intersted in the sport, kinda wondered what would happen if this happens tommorow.

We do basically what you did. We ask and if they do not move, we play around. Most are interested in what we are doing.

Putting in scores now. I see there was a 3 way tie for 1st in Masters. Who won the playoff out of Mahl, Eades, and Doyle? Anyone know?
The scores are posted on the Results page. If I need to correct the playoff, let me know.

Dan, Mahl won the playoff. The other two split the second place cash.

Two quick questions for those in the know, about Saturdays Tourney at Oxford. 1) Will it be 2 rounds of 18? 2) How is the parking situation there on campus?

I played this course on saturday and saw some problems for holes 8 and 11. There is construction going on at the bridge which goes over the lake which is fenced off. It wasn't that big of a problem for 8 unless you really throw over by the bridge, but the fencing went right up against the basket on 11. Someone may want to bring a basket to use for 11 unless you want to use the fence to make it more challenging.
Also, where are the extra holes usually placed for the ccs. I noticed that there were 27 played last year and I would like to know how difficult the temporary holes are.

Parking is usually not a problem since school is out for the year. Just use the lot that's next to hole 2. That's usually the HQ also.

natibuckeye - yes, you are competing to be the Course Challenge Series Champion in your division. You can see last year's winners if you go to the CCS results page. We have an awards ceremony at a local restaurant after the final course challenge of the year in November. So, yes there's definitely motivation to be there as well as to get to play with those who are challenging you for that title. I meant to answer to this earlier, but it was too early - 4:30 in the morning.
