I have spoke with Matt Blakely and he will not have the time to run this event this year, with Matt's blessing I will be running the tournament this year on May 23rd, 2009. Like all of my c-tiers there will be a website and more info coming soon, thanks Holly Williams #23789
additionally the Buck Creek Open will be 10-10-09 and the Stillwater Open will be 11-7-09

With help from Brian Gerhardstein, Prime Discs has decided to make the Turtlecreek Open a qualifier for the 2009 Vibram Open National Tour Event. There will be 2 qualifier spots available and it will be the ONLY OHIO qualifier this year!!!

The good thing about being a bad player is...you can play in any division you like. I just gotta figure out who I want to donate my money to. I'll probably have to play Advanced Masters to save a little money since for me..it's an out of town course ;)

are both tee pads used on all the holes that have both tee pads? I haven't played a tourny at turtle just casual...are there temp holes and if so where are they set up at?

Only 1 tee pad is usually used for most of the holes. New 7 uses the rubber tee, 8 uses the straight shot tee, and 17 uses the straight shot tee. I think last year we may have played 17 off of both tees (one per round) but I could be wrong. I think I also heard they were not going to do temp holes this year.

we are going to limit the field to 90, we have about 30 registered, so there is plenty of space left, the amateur players pack is going to include an Innova Pro Disc, 2 minis, coupon for free DVD, coupon to GGGT, and at least 3 stickers. There will be a CTP open to everyone on every hole with the prizes Including DVD's, Discs, Towels, and shirts. There will also be a throw off for a discatcher traveler, $1 per throw or 6 for $5 and depending on what kind of volunteering we have the Radar Gun may make an appearance!!!!

I am wondering if there have been past Turtlecreek Opens that had turtles on the discs. If so, does anyone have any pictures and/or would anyone be interested in trading (or selling, although I would prefer to trade) some discs so that I can get some.

Half open field and half wooded. New trees have been planted on the open field portion and should not ocme into play to much. Depending on the weather, there seems to be a wind tunnel affect on the open field portion.
The wooded portion requires control and there a couple holes where I find that I just throw to an area to setup the second shot. I think Dan has pictures of every hole on the course section on this site.
