I will be heading down to AJ Jolly for a couple casual rounds today around 3 if anyone wants to meet up and throw.

AJ Jolly is removing the disc golf course from its current location in the next few years. The Master plan calls for a marina, a stage and rv parking to go where #1, 18, 2,3 4 are. They have asked me to redesign the course in another part of the park. They will be building cabins and offices by the ball golf course, which is one area I will be looking at for the new course. They also would like a championship caliber design so that disc golfers will come to play the course then spend the night in one of their cabins. They didn't give me a time table but look for it to be all completed in about 5 years. More info later.

Jeff, if I get the land I looked at yesterday it has potential for a great 24 or 36 hole championship course. Will know more on friday.

Had a fun time out there today with Rob, Troy, & Jeremy x2 +1. Rob gets a new nickname ("Ice Ninja"), we find out that drinking and geese don't go well together, that you can often find snowbound discs as it melts (they're calling on the inked one), and that your dog needs to be either VERY obedient or leashed, to avoid near tragedies. (read my writeup here: http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2339686#post2339686 for details)
Who ever said disc golf couldn't be educational?
...or that meteorologists could predict the weather a day in advance?

Fred - Do you know when the current course will be pulled? I was out there today and Hole 5's basket is out of the ground leaning against a tree. Hole 6's teepad and sign are out of the ground and sitting close by. It looks like the stage for the ampitheater is built so I can only guess that they will be doing more to the course eventually. We have a Wed night league out there in a couple weeks so I was hoping to get a status so we can plan accordingly.

I spoke to the park director and was told that they temporarily pulled the basket n moved the tee pad to work on the stage. They are supposed to put them back but probably not by wednesday.

The basket on 5 was in place last week I think. The dirt has been messed up for weeks, not sure why. It has nothing to do with the new stage by #18 tee. They also cleared all the underbrush by 11 and 12. Now you can stand on 11 and throw straight at the basket. On another note, I have seen several articles about foot golf. Apparently it is over at World of Golf in Florence. Would it be feasible to install a foot golf course along with a disc golf course. Just wondering. What a great opportunity for families to play together.
