Does anyone know about a new course opening up in Milford/ Miami Township?  I heard there is a ribbon cutting today or something like that.  It was the first I have heard of it.

I remember talk of putting a course in Miami Meadows park. It was supposed to be nine holes to see what kind of turnout they would get. I am from eastgate if this is true I would go play the course today! Hopefully somebody knows more about this.

I just walked the whole walking trail around that park last week with my dogs and didn't see any signs of a disc golf course. Just sayin'

I've been occasionally walking through the park  since May and haven't seen a thing. It would've been nice to have a course close to my house.

There is an article in this weeks Milford Miami Advertiser that they plan to build the park in the spring. The town is currently looking for hole sponsors. You can call Larry Fronk at 513-248-3725 if you are interested in sponsoring a hole.

I've been a fan of disc golf for years and would love to see a course in my back yard!!

Was there anymore details on the park itself? Possibly a layout?

No, they haven't laid out the course yet. The article mentioned about how a man approached the township wanting to build a disc golf course then passing away a few weeks later. They want to fulfill his wishes by building it. Apparently it will be a nine hole course. I would call the township to find out more info on when they plan to build the park in the spring.

I have been speaking with the park district and YES there will be a course . I cannot give location yet but it will only be 9 holes as of now. I'm meeting with them hopefully in the next week to really get things moving. They are very positve about this . We will need volunteers to help clean, clear areas and put in the baskets etc . Holes sponsors will also be accepted. I will post as updates are made.

The baskets have been ordered for the course ! It will be a 9 hole course at this location. If things go well then they may put in a 18 hole course at another location. Plans are to have this one up and playable by the first of June . I will post when we will need volunteers to help install baskets . I will update as more info is avaiable.

Miami Meadows is a bad idea. We have looked there several times before. I had early discussions with the trustees (now all gone on to other positions) about putting a course in at Paxton Ramsey park. There is a much better chance of having 18 entertaining holes there than at Miami Meadows. Keep that one in mind if you have an ear with the current trustees.

The baskets have arrived and will be delivered to the course on Thursday. The layout is already approved by the board and as soon as the baskets are installed, it will be playable.Don't have to clean anything in order to play. Some things about it. It will only be 9 holes , some short but still challenging, some holes over 300-350 , uphill shots , downhill shots, over creek, along creek and ob"s . It will be a fun course to play, very well taken care of ! Would like to thank my son for helping us lay this course out. I'm hoping to have it ready for play by the middle of this month. Please check back or pm for opening dates.

Measured course today for final time. 6-7 holes are in the 200 - 250 ft range. 1 is in the 340 and 1 in the 380 + range. There will be ob's (creek will come into play on several holes) The park board told me today that the course will be open for play by July 1st . Will update as the course goes along.

Where is the course located and can you provide a map or address and let me know when it will be open?

The course is off rt 28 They really don't want the exact location out yet. They are afraid that to many people will come in and mess things up before it is done. As for the opening , it should be done by July 1st. I'm hoping they will do a grand opening or something like that. Please keep checking back and I will update as to the progress. Thanks

The wood "stops" at the front of the tee pads are all in. They park board didn't want to put in concrete tee pads so at this time they will be dirt / mulch ones. Baskets should be in by Mon/Tues. They are planning on having a ribbon cutting for this course around July 1st. Will update as more info becomes available.
