Yeah weeding took about 30 minutes. The big problem was removing the vinyl from the disc after it was dyed. Hot water makes it easier but it took like an hour. There were a couple of little glitches with it too. I will know better next time I do one that is that intricate.

Ditto on the weeding. I may be on crack, but I think cooling it down in the fridge/freezer might make it easier to remove the vinyl. Worth a try

Cold makes vinyl brittle. Heat should be used instead of cold, at the shop we might use a heat gun. A hair dryer can work also.

I use pretty damnt hot water now. It comes off easy enough. The problem is on intricate patterns you just have to be patient and take it off a piece at a time till your done. I have found that if I let the discs "cure" a day and then use goof off to get the sticky vinyl glue off it works better. If doing multiple colors I use hot water to remove the glue before I do the second dipping. That way the color sinks in better. Sometimes leaving the glue on does create a marble effect.

you could use some sort of rag or possibly a green pad to rub it off. Make sure your goof off is the one that is for plastic, their main version will eat plastic.
Phil, if you see a plotter for less than 200 please let me know. I have been searching and watching but looks like most keep going for over 350. Gonna try to get pics of my stuff up for ya's.

Yeah I use the gel it's pretty low impact. I wouldn't drink it, but it is safer than acetone.

I took some pics of the dyes I've been doin. Here's the link http://www.flickr.com/photos/adamj27655/sets/72157623553210926/Until I get a plotter these are all I'm doin for now. That Oracal 651 is great, thanks for the heads up Phil. I did use some other vinyl first on some other discs and it bled in less than 3 minutes.
