sammyshaheen wrote:Dan, I played Idlewild on Friday and noticed a lot of holes have short placements. The baskets are currently not in most of the shorter placements. Are the baskets going to be moved when ams play? Thanks
For holes that have baskets in both the short and long locations at all times (2 &13) and for holes that have both short and long teepads (3 & 14) -- participants will play the shorts Saturday (Am.s) and the Longs Sunday (Pros). For holes which have several possible pin placements listed on the tee-signs -- I believe they will be in the same place as they were when you played the course recently (in other words, those pins are not going to be moved).
I can see how that could be confusing, and hope this helps clarify...

Has hole 12 always had multiple pins? I only remember playing one.
Hole 12 now has a lengthened pin placement -- similar to what happened with hole 4 a few years ago. It is still a deuceable par 3, but it is a bit longer & harder now

Just in - couple more sponsors: Fishead Tim is a merchandise sponsor and Gold Star has joined in on the fun. Gold Star on 18 in Burlington is a Commercial Tee Sponsor and is offering 10% off this weekend when you mention the disc golf tournament. They now have double-decker sandwiches, fries and milkshakes too. This will be a great place for those to eat lunch while playing Idlewild. We're still working hard to make this a great tournament for you, right up to tourney time. Anybody want to be tee supporter? Only $20 gets your name on a tee sign at one of the courses and you get to keep the sign after the tourney.

Lee - no. Ams will play the regular 21 from the lower tee. Pros will play upper tee to temp basket just on the other side of the lake, then a somewhat short one to 21's regular basket from up by the end of the building next to the fence - this will be Hole A for Pros; play 22 -24 and then play Hole B over the other lake behind the volleyball court and then Hole C from the corner up toward the volleyball court. Back to Hole 1.

Yep-Matt bounced back nicely after taking a 5 on his 1st hole of the final round (#3). He also had a sick save for 4 on #13 after burying his drive in the trees to the right-short of the short pin. It was a treat watching Matt, Jeff V., and Brad S. play...one of the biggest differences between them and the Ams is that they simply don't make 2 bad shots in a row.

Great tournament. Thank you to Disc N Dat and all the volunteers and sponsors. The ice cold water was much appreciated, especially at Idlewild on Saturday.

The weather did turn out really nice. If anyone sees Dave Cox, let him know I've got an umbrella and a pack of stuff that I believe belongs to Rebecca. Also, for those who got tee signs, I will have those here at the store, possibly tomorrow but definitely next week. Just call to make sure I have them before you head this way.

Oh, the PDGA report and payment have been sent in so BGO should be on next Ratings update, which I believe is on 6/22.
