So I am just wondering what the status of this course is now? Thought I heard it was supposed to be open this fall. But guessing not as I have seen/heard nothing about it for a long time. Will it be open this next spring or this winter?

Most of the design work is done at this point. I think that the people working on it need to meet with the parks on a couple of holes, but after that they should be able to break ground. I think the parks dept. would like to see this course in by spring.

I'll post the layout once it is finalized. The park board was presented with a layout on 11/17th but not all members of the board were present therefore a vote on the layout was postponed. The park has committed to the course and has already purchased the baskets but they're on an extremely tight budget as getting a levy passed for the park is not feasible at this time. That being said, we could use all the volunteers we could get for assisting with clearing the fairways and installing the baskets and tee pads. If you are interested in volunteering please call me at 513-602-0637. For more on the design, we have penciled in alt pins and teepads for long term development. If the current desing is approved, your looking at a short design of 18 holes, 5100 ft and a long design of 18 holes, 6100-6300 feet (that will only come to fruition with fundraiser events I'll be holding in the future), majority of the holes being wooded and a large percentage of them with multiple fairways or alt options. The woods there are old and full of a variety of tree species. There are some massive sycamores and oaks, lots of Cedar, Ash, Osage Orange. There are also some nasty Locust and Mulberry trees that need to come down along with three types of invasive species, red vine, honeysuckle, and garlic mustard. There is also a good mix of elevation changes in the current layout. This course is going to be a lot of work but if done right it will be to Mt.Airy as Banklick is to Idlewild. I'll be out there this Saturday marking off the fairways so if you want a tour or want to help out just give me a call.

So is this on the same area as the existing course or across the street as I had heard once? Trying to get a bearing on where the map images are located.

on facebook: search for Goshen Park District and click "like"
I read this post from yesterday there:
Goshen Park District Walking through the disc golf course design plan Sunday. The course will bring economic activity and fun to Goshen! Looking to have the first tournament in the Spring! Anyone have a bobcat they are willing to let us use to clear the course? 17 hours ago · LikeUnlike · Comment

What is the latest status on this course? Is the course designed, being built, when would it open?
Just curious?

Last I heard from those involved is that the design has been approved and all necessary trees have been marked for removal. Adam or Drew can give more up to date info.

So would the course be ready this year? Did they order baskets yet? Any chance we can see an image/layout of the course?

As far as I've heard 1. Yes the course will be ready this year. 2. The baskets were ordered and I believe that the park is in posession of them. 3. I'll shoot an email to Drew or Adam and see if they want to post that info. I've heard that in terms of total distance it's between Lincoln Ridge and Idlewild. I haven't seen the complete final layout myself. I think they had to change some things to accomodate horse/walking trails.

The course will be open this year, We are not setting any dates yet. Baskets (Mach 5's) where purchased and are on hand and ready. We have come up with a really good design for the area and we are scheduling and organizing fairway clearing right now and very soon we will be posting that info for volunteers to come and help out. Latest map layout is in the works and we may have that up for viewing later.

I'm very excited to see it progress and will help when I can to get it ready. This will be my home course since I'm about 4 miles away.

I am glad to hear all the good news. I am a cincinnati resident and dont make it to KY courses that often. Good to have a course like Idlewild in the area. I will only be 20 min away as well.

Yes, we don't want to hit any horses with discs, people can get more uptight about their horses then they would about you hitting their children.

See if this link works. You should see a large cleared area close to Goshen High School. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Goshen,+OH&aq=0&sll=39.241427,-84.216921&sspn=0.015505,0.022659&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Goshen,+Clermont,+Ohio&ll=39.225077,-84.149517&spn=0.003877,0.005665&t=h&z=18
