I figured since the 11th Annual Flying Pig Open tournament is only a little more than 3 weeks away, I'd start a thread to start the chatter.
Registration is open on the home page.
I saw the flyer tonight at Ace Fund. 2 rounds of 24 at Mt. Airy on Saturday and 1 round of 24 at Harbin on Sunday, with a final nine for those who hang out afterward.
Fund raiser tournament at Gulley this weekend.
It looks like the registration won't end until it fills or on the 25th. That should ensure it won't be a tiny turnout like last year.

I wish I would have been consulted on the schedule before it was set in stone. Saturdays are a busy day at Mt Airy not just at the shop but with picnicers through out the park. That is why Brad scheduled Saturday at Harbin and Sunday at Mt Airy last year. There are a lot less picnicers on Sundays especially in the mornings. Is there any chance you can change it? I would appreciate it.

Final 9 for Men's Open sponsored by Grip-Equipment, each participant will receive a Grip-Equipment Pro Touring Bag as seen at grip-equipment.net. (Note: Bags may not be of the assembly line by tournament time, hopefully they will be but if not bags will be shipped to the winners address after the tournament.) Added cash at minimum of $500 but sponsorships are still coming and a fund raiser event on Sunday total added cash should be above $1K. AM Field players pack includes a tourney 50/50 T-shirt, Pro-Katana, and a Sparkle Line Reef (APX Mold), plastic payout, top winners will receive the New DGA Driver, Hurricane (Fresh of the presses!!) as part of the payout. Plastic Payout consists of Innova, Discraft, and DGA plastic. Winner of Women's Open division and Pro Masters division(must be 4 participants to form a division) and will receive an added Grip Equipment Touring Bag on top of the cash payout. We are running a raffle for the EDGE program as well this year, our goal is to raise $500 to donate to EDGE. Raffle prizes include a GRIP Equipment touring bag and donated discs (if you would like to donate discs for the fundraiser PM me)

I'm fairly certain the idea for Saturday at Airy was to ensure two challenging rounds at Airy instead of easy old Harbin.(don't check my scores at Harbin BTW-ouch)

AM1 = Advanced AM2 = Intermediate AM3 = Recreational There's a guide to division breakdowns here: http://www.pdga.com/files/documents/PlayerDivisionGrid_0.pdfThere used to be a more explanatory page somewhere but I couldn't find it. The page above just lists the breakdown by player rating; but if you don't have a rating or are new to competitive disc golf, it can be a bit difficult to follow.

When in doubt (without a rating) just play in the lowest division. The CCS coming up on the 14th is a cheap way to gauge your best suited division before the PIG.

That would be one of the reasons. Another reason is the nostalgia and memories many of the local and non-locals have at the course and given them the opportunity to have a full day of competition there. Third reason for those who are more practical.................SHADE.

What more info do you need? The sign up times are posted. It's short notice, but all of the info is on the main page as well as the forums. I'd be surprised if it's a big turnout with the notice that's been given. But it's the night before and I doubt there is anything you can do to promote it more at this point.
