The Nati will gladly donate for 1 tee pad and maybe the course improvement fund will pay for another(Adam). Can the club can donate as well to get this thing started. We can also be availabe for help with the work if given enough notice. Good luck.

I want to thank Dan and Fred for their help along with Bill Knuyting, Adam and the guys that I play with at Williamsburg. This course is fun but challenging and will have tourneys on the schedule for next year.

We will be playing 3 rounds - 1st round will be Alternate Shot (One player will drive then the partner will take the next shot and they will continue to alternate shots). 2nd round will be Best Shot (Normal doubles). We will then take a lunch break. 3rd round will be worst shot (Both players will throw and then will take the worst throw of the two until a putt is made) This tourney is a fund raiser and is meant to be different, hence the worst shot round. More details to come soon.

After some feedback I have decided to keep the 3 rounds but it will be 1st round - Alternate shot, 2nd round - Alternate shot and 3rd round - Best shot. The player sign up will be from 8:00 to 9:00 with the players meeting at 9:15 and tee off at 9:30. The cost is as follows:
Pro - $50.00 per team with cash payouts
Advanced - $40.00 per team with gift cards from Disc n Dat (Great Christmas gifts)
Recreational - $40.00 per team with gift cards from Disc n Dat (Really great Christmas gifts)
We will use $20.00 per team for the tee pads. If I can swing it I am going to have grilled hot dogs for everyone.

I talked to Alman Thursday night and he suggested rounds that would incorporate alternate, worst and best shots in the same round. He said that he played in a tourney recently where they did 6 holes of each every round and that it was a blast. Can I get some feedback from players interested in playing in this tourney? I want to make this a fun and unique event .

Troy I'm all about playing 3 rounds, but are you sure you will have enough time to do 3? If it's a smaller turnout you may be ok, but since we have had the time change there's less daylight. Also if you are switching up shots every 6 holes this could prolong play. I'm with Alman this format sounds fun, I'm just concerned there may not be enough time.

If I go with this format then it will only be 2 rounds because of the shorter day. If we play 2 rounds of alternate and 1 best shot we still should be ok. I am liking Almans idea the more I think about it.

Here will be the format for the tourney:
Tough shot (Worst shot until a putt is made) - Holes 1-6
Best shot (Normal doubles) - Holes 7-13
Alternate shot (Players take turns throwing) - Holes 14-19
Both rounds will be this way.

We will be having a clean up day on November 27th at 11:00am to get the course ready for the tourney. Basically we just need to clean up a lot of tree branches that have fallen in the last couple of wind storms. Afterwards we will play a round of doubles using the format for the tourney.

I want to thank the Fairs and Jarrod Brumley for helping my son and myself today. We cleaned up the course while we played today and had a good time. The river was up today and I lost 2 of my favorite discs on hole 8 in the river. I say this to warn players that with the water up to bring discs that you can afford to lose on holes 6, 7 and 8.

I have 1 player needing a partner in the Rec division so far. Anyone interested or in need of a partner please PM me or call me at 513-843-6818 or 513-374-4031. Call me with any questions about the tourney also.
On a side note, the long range weather forcast is for dry weather Wednesday thru Saturday with highs in the upper 40's to lower 50's.

Sat Here is the weather forcast for Saturday
Mostly Cloudy HI 67 F (19 C) LO 54 F (12 C)
For San Diego California! Our forcast is only a little cooler with maybe an inch of snow so come out and enjoy the weather. Alman is giving several CTP gifts on hole #1 which are really nice.

Phil, Finnegan is looking for a partner.
May I recommend this alternate format in case of severe conditions:
1 round alternate shot, 1 round best shot
or
1 round as scheduled and if it gets real hairy, or if the first round takes longer than 3 hours, the final round is best shot
