It's that time again! Come on out and play the GCFDA's annual New Year's Day Tourney Saturday January 1, 2011, at Winton Woods. This is a great tradition, so come be a part of the fun!
We will be teeing off at 11:00 am, sign-ups will begin at 9:30 am and end at 10:30 am. We'll have a brief meeting, play 2 rounds with a break for lunch in between. We may have some extra holes this year too.
Divisions will be the same as our Course Challenge Series:
Pro Men - $20
All Other Pro Divisions - $10 (Women, Masters+)
All Advanced - $10
Recreational - $5
**There will not be a fee if you are not a club member** - that starts with the CCS Series in March.
Bring some wood for the fire, some money for a 2011 Hamilton County Park Pass ($10 Annual, $3 Daily)
Hope to see you there!

Here's hoping the heavy rain is done by tee-off! The radar looks ugly right now - 8+ hours til tee time. Better bring the Gore-tex and swamp shoes. Happy New Year!

Garrett Deimler with some ridiculous score - I can't remember the total but the first round was a 37, a 17 down, which looks like a new record! Can you fix that on the course record page, Dan? Way to go Garrett. Thanks to everyone who came out and for everyone who pitched in and TD'd the annual New Year's Day tourney at Winton. A few pics are up in the gallery. Not much and not that good - I'm not much of a picture person, but I try.

Garrett Deimler shot a lights out -17 first round with an ace on 16, and followed it up with a -13 to take the win by 5 strokes in the open division. The weather grew colder than expected the first round, but seemed warmer the second when the wind died and sun came out. It was pretty sloppy in the usual places with standing water in places. It was great to see a monster 30 person open field and a total of around 80 people (I forget). In a surprise to no one, every cashing master would have cashed in the open division, too. Thanks to Dan, Dave and Tony for getting it done. Big winner of the day was the Hamilton County Parks who sold a lot of vehicle passes. Time will only tell if this was the last tournament at the current course. It was a great way to bring in 2011. Attached is a picture I took of the King.

Even though I stunk up the course I had a good time because of the people I played with and met. Thanks to all who were involved in running the tourney, it was fun.
