Doubles - Oct 1, 2011 C tier with $500.00 added to pro purse.
They are back at Idlewild this year. Both tournaments will be in long pin positions and tees and extreme OB rules.
Possibly 24 holes. Additional holes will continue with Idlewild tradition. Challenging.

Thanks Brad. I will be posting info shortly. We are in the process of cleaning up Idlewild and getting it ready for the Ky State singles. I have not heard back from Boone County on the funding for the baskets for the new holes. We will do the best we can to get the extra holes ready by tournament time. They will be ready for the Bluegrass Open for sure. All divisions will be playing the same course, same rules, same ob. Bring your A game. Ramdom draw doubles on Friday April 22 at 4:00 pm if you can't make it for the singles. Same lay out, $10.00 ea.

John, yes you can sign up at the shop. If you haven't played Idlewild lately we have added astro turf to the green on #11 and hopefully will have a few more greens done by tournament time. Since we can't grow grass and mulch doesn't last I thought I'd try the turf out and see how it works to keep erosion down. As far as I know "The Wild" is the only place in the country that will have astro turf greens. It makes for a pretty special look. If anyone is interested in helping we will be out on Monday all day and evening, just show up. Jason will post a pic later.

That's pretty cool. If we keep this pace up all caddies will be required to wear white coveralls.

Is that carpet or did you paint the mulch? Either way it looks good.

Got to see the turf today - it looks pretty nice.
Could someone please post the schedule for KY states? The nati website doesn't have what time check-in and tee-off are.

Didn't see this till today, so forgive the dumb question. I must be inhaling too many dye fumes.
Cant wait to see it in full effect this weekend.

Thanks, John. The Nati site didn't have the 8:30/9:00 info up before but Fred posted it.
I'm looking forward to this tournament. I really enjoy most of the extreme OB rules. I played doubles last Sunday and have two questions that I'm sure will be addressed at the players meeting but just feel like stirring the pot:
1) Where is the drop zone for the green on 3? We didn't see it marked anywhere when we played.
2) Will the KY gap mando be in effect? I'm sure some would disagree - but to me, it's just punishing a shot that already had a 99% chance of ending up in a bad place anyway.
If those storms that are supposed to come through on Friday night are strong enough the fairways might be even more restricted!
