Howie, yes there will be a Masters division. Right now it's looking like 2 rounds of best shot, 24 holes, longs(nothing is set in stone though). Due to the time issue.

How about both rounds 24 holes one short, one long, and "extreme" O.B.s (it is doubles-whiners ) . Hole #3 mini-penisula is perfect for doubles format. With 24 holes the course handles 12 more teams vs. 18 holes.

As fun as 48 holes of golf sounds, I don't know that there's enough daylight in October to cover that. The 24-hole round at the BGO took our card five and a half hours to complete. Granted, that was singles, but I still don't see it working out unless we have an obscenely early tee off. I say 18 holes like the old days both rounds - but nostalgia just isn't what it used to be.

Am I reading right -- Pro Masters is $62 per person? I don't meant to b*tch, but with the price of gasoline and making ends meet, it makes choosing to participate that much harder -- despite the fact that Idlewild is my favorite course and it is always nice to see Fred and the Cinci peeps...
That said, if David Cox will be my partner, I say raise the entry fee LOL

My bad, that should be $52.00 entry fee for the Pro Masters. No one has paid yet so it shouldn't be a problem. I will reimburse the difference to anyone that pays the $62 on Saturday. I will have Jason change it on the website asap.

sweet! $52 sounds good :-) Calling all Masters! :-)
So 2 rounds of 24 and layout will not be extreme OB, but still whole creek bed? Thanks for running this Fred!

FYI - the course looks great. The only issue I saw was the huge flowers were covering the footpath between 12's basket and 13's tee. Looking forward to the tourney.

Matt, thanks for the heads up. Will take care of it this week. Got 4 inches of rain Sunday nite and got some flooding. I was worried whether the turf on 15 would hold up. So far so good.

Good news, bad news. The bad news is we lost our main sponsor Edgewood Electric. You know the economy is bad when Mark Goetz(owner of EE) is watching his money. He usually donates $500.00 each to Ky state singles and doubles. The good news is that I have raised $550.00 from local "convenient" stores, The Dug Out Cafe, The Nati Disc Golf, Kentucky Film Carriers, GCFDA, Marathon, Ameristop - Burlington. It could be more by game time. 80% goes to the Open field, 20% to Masters.
I have mimimized expenses for the pro fields so that the pay out will be a little better. Expenses(per person) will be $2.00 to pdga, $5.00 lunch, division percentage of sanctioning/insurance fees depending on number of total players, maybe $2 per person.
I'd like to ask the Tuesday and Saturday ace fund competetors for permission to donate $100.00 to the Ky States, the pot is at $1,200. I won't do it if one person(that participates) say no. Please post here.
In order to speed up play we will not be having CTP's while playing but instead we will give out close to $500.00 in added prizes after the awards at The Dug Out Cafe. You must be present to win. Everyone is eligible except for the winners of their respected division.
Course should be marked and ready for practice by this evening. I will have Jason post "IDLEWILD" rules here sometime today.
Dress warm it looks like it's going to be cool out there.

I'm ok with sponsoring out of the ace fund if...The money is split between adanced and intermediate winner in gift certificates. Otherwise, no. John

So let's say someone barely makes the mando, actually hitting the inside of one of two sides of the Y. This results in the disc landing just past the gap tree but on the left side of the creek. They're OB? I'm not playing in the tourney but can imagine there'll be some pretty ticked off people if that's the ruling.
Just a heads up, good luck with KY States this year, guys.

Hey guys, its Trevor from the tuesday ace fund/friday harbin doubles ect. I'm still looking for a partner if anyone wants to play intermediate with me. I was going to play with Aaron from the tuesday ace fund but he found out he has a family wedding. I throw almost all forehand so a righty backhand would make a good partner...
C:954-670-6765 shoot me a text.
-Trevor
PS: I'm happy with money coming from the ace fund. I like gary's idea of taking 200, 100 to each.

A perfect challenge in a doubles tournament, IMO. If, we play it in singles then, I'd call that lame. No Mando on hole 6, BTW.
