So how did this course get built? You mention you can play 9 holes now does that mean more holes to come?

It looks like the holes follow around the tree line around the whole park area, so I don't know if there would is land for anymore holes unless the city give permission to cut down some trees to whomever is in charge of the construction of the course.

Yeah this is a great surprise. So has anyone played the course yet? I live only 15 min away and really glad to hear about this one? Is there a map of the course available or can someone make one via a mapquest map and post it?

yes i PLAYED AS THEY WERE PUTTING BASKETS IN. 1ST TO PLAY NEW COURSE! WHEN THEY POST TEE MARKERS COURSE WILL BE COMPLETE. AS FAR AS ANYONE KNOWING ABOUT THE COURSE, YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE A LOCKLAND RESIDENT AND RECIEVE THE SPRING UPDATE NEWS LETTER. THE VILLAGE COUNCIL IS THE ONE WHO GOT THE GRANT FUNDING (4K) FROM THE STATE FOR A DG COURSE. I MADE A POST OF A NEW COURSE WITH THE HOPE OF THE DG COMMUNITY COULD GET INVOLVED AND HELP MAKE THIS A GREAT COURSE TO PLAY.ALSO THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA IF WE COULD POST PICS AND GET GARDNER PARK ON THE DG COURSE MAP!

Can anyone who goes post on here later what the course is really like. Comparing this course to another course may help in drawing more people to the park.

So is the course easy to find on the property and in a fashion you could play it now with no signs/markers or pads?

Haven't heard anything about tee markers, I was told that tee pads would be grass for now. I don't know how to compare it to another course, maybe a little similar to burnett woods/ turtle creek? I will try to find out whrn tee markers will be installed.

When you enter the park the 1st hole is on the hill to your right. Hole 2 is to the left of 1. follow the walking path counter clockwise to follow the course. hole 3 is located on top of the hill (basket is located in back corner top of hill). the village workers have marked the walking path with paint pointing to hole location with numbers for installation. pretty easy to follow. its going to be pretty long 9 holes, the walking path is 1 mile loop. Course follows all the way around the path.

I figured it went the opposite way around the woods, thanks for the correction. Any idea where the 1st tee is going to be?

yes, when you enter the park hole 1 is located next to the park entrance road, tee off on 3rd base line edge of parking lot, throw up hill, via bacon st. hole 2 is to the left of 1, to the left of the brown block bldg. 2 plays along westview ave. just got off the phone with a village worker to find out when tee markers to be installed, no definate answer, should be real soon! Was informed that the tee markers will have alternate tee boxes to play as a 18 hole course (red and blues).

I may have missed the answer, but does anyone know who is responsible for this course being installed? I find it amazing that a governmental body would be motivated to purchase 9 baskets and install a course unless someone in that office were a disc golfer. And, if they were, the odds are pretty good that they'd have crossed paths with our Club or our events. It's a mystery.

The council person who is responsible for the dg course idea is Adam Raby, dont know if he is disc golfer, also there is funding from the state for a skateboard area at Gardner Park ! Hard to believe I know, when I talked to people from the village, no one even knows about the G.C.F.D.A, seems like I am the only one in Lockland that knows about the club. Thats why I am posting as much info as I can about the course to get people out to Gardner to play. It seems like Lockland gets grants every year for community park upgrades.Hope everyone that plays will enjoy, its nice to see our sport growing, and hope in the future it continues to do so.

If you go to the park now can you figure out where the tee locations are for each hole?

We went there Thur night and didn't play cause we had no ideal where to tee from . Also they have several baseball games going on which may cause some problems for some on the holes.

Most youth baseball still runs thru the summer, hopefully that wouldn't be an issue there . Also could you please post when some sort of markings for the tee pads are in ? We came from the east side of Cincy to play and no one could even begin to guess where to throw from. It looks nice so far though!

Hello fellow disc champ$! I am a friend of Adam Raby who got the "go ahead" in designing the course and what Brockman is stating is true. You would park down at the park and walk over to the 1st baseball diamond (3rd base line) and tee off at the end of the parking lot up through the tree. Feel free to give me a call after 5pm Mon-Friday as I live 200 yards away from course and can either provide you a map of each hole/par or even get out and sling a few w/ ya. Have a good day!
Rob Wolfenden 513-253-7669 *I'll be out of town next Wed-Saturday (05/12-05/14) as we're heading down towards Mammoth Cave to throw a few and camp out*
