Going krazier this year! Planning on having 4 Ice Bowls for the Series this year.
[edit]
Schedule changed see below.
#1 at Boone 1/7/12
#2 at Harbin 1/21/12
#3 at Lincoln Ridge 2/4/12
#4 at AJ Jolly 2/25/12
[/edit]
More details to follow. Looking like a good year to raise some money for Fairhaven Rescue Mission. The Ice Bowl Krazy Series is our annual fundraising event that raises money for those less fortunate than ourselves.
Merry Christmas everybody.

WOW, 4 of 'em. Cracks me up when people ask if I'm done with DG for the season.

Have had to change the schedule a little. The first 3 are set now and we are just working on the fourth one, hopefully AJ Jolly. Here's the revised schedule with the fourth one still to be determined.
January 7 - Boone Woods
January 21 - Harbin Park
February 4 - Lincoln Ridge (formerly Banklick)
February 25 - [edit] AJ Jolly [/edit]
I'll have online registration up shortly, hopefully by tomorrow at the latest.

Information and Registration is now up at 2012 Ice Bowl Krazy Series Let me know if there are any questions or errors. I rushed a little to get it up today. Pre-registration is really appreciated as it takes a lot less time and you don't have to stand around in the cold or precipitation.

I want to have the same layout as we had at the Day Glow, playing 20 holes - using the current holes 17 (with the missing basket) and three temp holes in the soccer field. I need two more baskets. Any volunteers to bring some baskets? Thanks in advance.

Ok, got some more news regarding the Ice Bowls and pre-registration. If we get 15 pre-registered, all the pre-registered will be entered into a drawing for an 2012 Ice Bowl disc. So, that's just twelve more. It's definitely going to save us all some time. Also, I will be having a raffle again this year for an Innova Discatcher Sport basket. Raffle tickets are $2 each or 8 tickets for $10. . You can register, pay for mulligans, make an extra donation to Fairhaven and enter the basket raffle all in one place. All entries include $1 Ace Fund - if no aces, the $ goes to Fairhaven.

It's not the best, but I can bring my basket.
Just saw the weather forcast, looks like it will be cloudy, but in the mid 40's. Sounds like great weather to come out to Boone, and raise some money for a great cause!

Thanks Tony. Really appreciate it. If anyone else wants to bring one go ahead. It's always better to have an extra than not enough. Pre-Register and be entered into a drawing for an Ice Bowl disc (if we get 15 pre-registered). Click here: For more information, to pre-register and to see the pre-reg list

Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday for our first Ice Bowl. Dave Hammers, CEO of Fairhaven Rescue Mission came out and talked about Fairhaven and how much they appreciate what the GCFDA/ Ice Bowl does for them. Results are up. We raised approximately $500 for Fairhaven at this first Ice Bowl. Next Ice Bowl is at Harbin Park in Fairfield 1/21/12. Hope to see you there.

You can go ahead and pre-register for the second Ice Bowl at Harbin on 1/21/12. If we get 18 pre-registered we'll have a drawing for 2 Icebowl discs.

Dan, is Dave(?) going to be there again to collect bags of clothing and canned goods for the mission. Also, can you make the weather as nice as Saturday?

John - I missed your post above earlier. I do not think Dave will be at Harbin. If there is anyone else who would be willing to collect clothes/canned goods at Harbin, let me know. I just don't have the room to do it myself.

You are probably using a browser other than Explorer. If so, switch to Explorer, sign up and then switch back to your normal browser. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We are half way to the Ice Bowl discs drawing for pre-registered players. You know you don't want to stand around in the cold tomorrow morning. For all pre-registered skip the line and you get a freebie. If anyone has some kindling to start a fire bring it. I've got a lot of big firewood in the back of my truck but not much for starting. We'll be set up at the shelter over by where we usually have the temp holes - no, we aren't having any temp holes for this one - and we can have a nice fire.

Hi Dan, thanks for hosting the Ice Bowl! A quick, novice question: if we have a layer of ice on the tee pads, we...? Any tips for someone who has never thrown on ice? I don't mind the cold air, but am concerned about the footing. Thanks, --Jeff ps: I can bring some good starter wood. What time?

During Ice Bowls if the tee pads are icey/slippery due to snow or ice then participants have the option of throwing off to the side or behind. I try to get there by 8:00 but we'll see what the conditions have to say about that. Signup is by 9:30 tee at 10:00
