Are we going to tape off the areas around the baskets near the water because of people fishing? If so we will need to do this early.

We havent taped off the water holes before most people fishing end up moving once they relize that we keep coming on right after another. If the free parking by hole's 1 and 2 fills there is more parking before you cross the lake on the right side. Would be a even longer walk to the shelter.

Next Saturday is our CCS at Goshen, and we are planning on having it capped at 100 players, and since hole 13 is in a soybean field we will be adding a temp hole and possibly 2 more to allow more players. If you plan one attending, please get there early so you can get signed up.

im probably not the to first one to think of this but you should use the truck path leading down to 14 tee for a temp hole i think there was enough length there to make a decent hole im going back out there today so i can throw it and see

Adam has three temp holes figured out in his mind that are closer to the shelter. Easier to get the baskets to and from then.

I was thinking the same thing about the walking path, but we haven't even thought about clearing any of it. It would also be the roughest of the holes we have.

I made up some smaller corex signs for the holes. They are 8x12 with the hole # and a small clip to hold a card we can use to write in the distance.(maybe even a short note like "Creek is OB"). I also have signs that say next with and arrow to point to the next hole, about fifteen each of left and right. These are generic and can be used again for temp courses and extra holes in the future. The hole numbers go 1 to 24 and also a to f. I took Friday off and will be up to help and can bring the signs then. If anyone needs to contact me about the signs or Friday work call my cell 513 674 8265 (leave a message if i don't answer during working hours).

The next course challenge series is at Kathryn Stagge Marr Community Park in Goshen Ohio. The 275 Milford exit maybe closed come this saturday, please take the Milford Parkway exit, continue onto the Milford Parkway off the highway, it will cross over rout 50 and turn into 131. Take 131 to 132, turn left onto 132. Take 132 to Woodville Pike, turn right onto Woodville Pike. Take Woodville Pike to Goshen Road, turn left onto Goshen Road. Continue onto Goshen Road, the park will be immediately on your right after a dip in the road and a 90 degree turn to the left. If you drive by the shools you've gone too far. If you are coming from route 28, the course is on your left after the school. Look for the little white house and the red barn, there is a Park sign as well. Friendly reminder, this is a new course and it is still in development, temp signage will be in for the event and/or provided via handhout. The rough is very rough, so stay on the fairways and watch your footing, we have taken out many stumps yet some remain, as do holes and divets. Not all of the tee placements are in place, the layout on Saturday will be an intermediate layout as many short and long tees are not in place at this time. I recommend long pants, as you play, if you come across any sticks it would be greatly appreciated if you could throw them to the side. The park will also be hosting a haunted trail and corn maze at night, so if your own round isn't scary good or scary bad, I encourage you to stay for the evening and have some fun!

If you are coming from the west on I 275 , a left at Wards Corner exit,  to a right onto Branch Hill New Guinea.  to a left on Rt 28 and you will get to Goshen.
May have to play this CCS, my limited skill set rocked that course today at times. Deuced the long hole with the mini canyon half way down the fairway (#9 maybe) with a lazering 180 ft forehand. Deuced #17 and a scored a three on #18. Took a 6 on #5, ended up + 7 for the round. Took an 70 minutes to play the solo round.
Each card should be required to carry a heavy duty landscaping scythe or weed whacker this Saturday, retrieving disc can be hazardous on this course.  Offer stroke free lie to a meter into the fairway from where the golfer enters the thorny abyss to disc by using tools and clearing brush.  2 strokes off and the stroke free relief for the golfer that uses bare hands to clear briar and thorny refuse to retrieve disc.  Seriously though, each card should carry heavy duty work gloves.  idea

On the score cards that I have made up we have the distances on them so that will help out a bunch. Looks like we will have a number of way to number the tees that will be used.

I was going to add the distances to the corex signs i made for the CCS, so I should use the short pins? Do you have anyone lined up to produce the permanent signage? I can see what we would charge. Would need specs and so forth. Probably can get a discount if we can add a sponser logo.

Oh and yes I did say short placement alot, There is alot of room to grow later on.

Anyone that served 5 hours or more out at Goshen will recieve a DX disc as a volunteer reward. See me if you haven't recieved yours yet or not sure if you earned one.
I have half of the order and will be selling them on behalf of the Park, DX Aviar,Cobra,Roc for $9 and Champ Glo Sidewinder,Wraith,Destroyer for $15(big savings on the CFR's).
Super huge thanks to all those that have helped make this course possible and all those that helped, bought a disc and particiapted in the CCS, was a great day of disc golf.

Our next CCS is at Mt.Airy on October 20th and due to Cincy Parks requiring Insurance this is a PDGA sanctioned C-Tier which inludes the added cost of a $2 per player fee, and a $10 non PDGA member fee (just like Rapid Run CCS). The Club is waiving its non member fee. We are not going to have any Pre-registration so all signups are Day of the event.
If the weather is decent we will be playing 20 holes and I plan on having the baskets in the event layout the week of, If we get to much rain we will not be playing holes A and B(old 7 & 8). I may have to cap this one mainly due to less day light and longer rounds for this course. 20 holes = 100 players / 18 holes = 90 players.

Slight change of plans, I will have a pre-registration paypal setup so anyone that wants to help me out and make my life easier and guarantee they will be playing please click the following link for signups ----> www.cincinnatidiscgolf.com/ccsreg/    Prereg closes on Friday 19th at 9pm.

This is just for our CCS divisions, if anyone wants to compete in other PDGA divisions not listed they may do so long as we have 4 or more and you must contact me personally as I will start a list and post it here. You will just not be included in our CCS standings. It is up to the TD's discretion to allow 2 or 3 players to compete against each other in 1 division but this is usually done by group discussion with said players and TD, it just doesn't make for good competition.

With fall weather around us and less daylight I have decided to either do 20 holes if the grounds are good or 18 (no holes A,B) if it is bad, hence the field will be capped at 90 regardless of holes played. I have already adjusted the course for the event  and have several holes in short positions and rest in originals. All proper course data and par will be on the scorecards.

HQ is at the Shelter by hole 8 known as area 2, our traditional location. Sign ups close at 9am with a short players meeting and then Tee of at 9:30. All CCS info can be found here   www.cincinnatidiscgolf.com/Events/CourseChallengeSeries.aspx

All volunteers / spotters will recieve a Club disc valued upto $16 for helping in this event. Anyone that had helped in earlier PDGA events this year get with me if you haven't picked your volunteer rewards disc yet aswell.

Lunch...At check-in/registration you will be able to preorder Pizza and a drink for $5 from the Nati Pro shop via Fred Salaz, just as we did for the FPO this year.

More info later, call me if you have questions or concerns....Adam Jones  513-255-7275 and thanks for all the support.
