Is there gonna be a scheduled work day between now and the next event? I am busy the next two weekends(vacation and BGO), but I can post it on DGCR. That might get a couple guys to come out and help. Also, Drew if you know ahead of time any weeknights you will be out there, let me know and I will try to make it out there.

Shot some aerial photos at Osage Grove Disc Golf Course tonight. Just for fun I thought I'd try a fly-by of Hole No. 17. It's not edited but it gives you an idea of what can be done with a quadcopter.

If you have a slow processor the video will be a bit jerky.  it's shot in HD.  I only posted it at 720 though I do have a 1080 version as well.

And here's a video of players throwing off the tee pad.  Again,  it's not a finished project.  I was looking at different views to see what worked best.

That is amazing! I watched the Mt. Airy practice run too. You could put together a best holes of the region montage using flybys!!!

Beautiful looking video(s), Paul! You're from the future, aren't you? Coz this is definitely THE way to show off a course. Thanks for posting it. --Jeff A.

DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus... ...HAHA, name long enough? GREAT quadcopter, love it. I've got about 20 hours of flying time in on it now. Doesn't seem like much but with about 20 minutes of flying time per battery (I've got two) that's a few times up in the air. I'm think about the idea posted above of shooting a "greatest holes" video for the Cincinnati area (courses listed on our forum), but to keep it from featuring just a handful of courses maybe do something like the top Hole No. 1, the top Hole No. 2 etc. This forum would be a great place to get input. I've played every course in the area, a lot, so I've got my own ideas, but it would be great to hear from some of the other members of the community.

What is your favorite No. 1 Hole in the area? That would be a good start. When I get enough input I'll pick one and go shoot it! Should I start a new forum topic for this idea?

This is awesome!

I took the liberty of 'redirecting' this from the Osage Volunteer thread to a new one under
Local Courses - Videos!
...hope you don't mind

This Saturday we will be out at Osage Grove in Goshen working on installing some alternate pins and probably more if we get enough help. Should be there between 8 and 9am to get started.

I will be out at Osage this Sunday at 9am., we will start with planting 300 White Oak saplings on holes 13 and 16 to create a separation of fairways and fields, just the first step in our planned planting schedule.
After this, which should not take to long, we will work on other projects through out the course...

We will be planting 200 trees at Osage this Sunday starting at 9am.
Bring gloves and a shovel.
May work on other projects if we get this done faster than expected...

Everyone that has said they wanted to help and sponsor a hole, now is the time...

We need fundraising dollars to finish the course. All the funds for a tee sponsorship will cover the costs of materials needed to add the second set of tees, additional basket locations(ground sleeves, concrete), tee signs, course map and rules signs, and everything else we need...

We have only had two tees paid for so far, have not set any deadlines, so now we must push a bit harder to get these done....

All tee sponsors please contact myself or Andrew Miller for all the details. Full list of tees and sponsors can be found in this thread back at the second post....

Each tee(two per hole, some may have a third) sponsorship is for $300. This barely covers the cost of materials needed for the tee pads, gravel, sign post and signs...Since we where able to get a great deal from the Pittsburgh club on their used fly pads from Moraine, we might have some extra funds to cover bridges, extra sleeves for 3 pin locations per hole, next tee signs, and other added amenities...

Right now there is a struggle to get a levy on the ballot to help the park get funding from the community. Two trustee board members have an alternate agenda that if the park can not get enough funding to install a public restroom by May of 2016(have had 5 years to get it done but with no income it has been practically impossible). If they can not get this accomplished, then the park will be under control of the Goshen Trustees, and out of the hand of the Park Commissioners(all volunteers). IF this happens there is a very high probability they will not want Disc Golf in the park, has to do with the local horse club that wants the park to be for just them, they have shown their dislike for us since the beginning.

With that being said, I am now very reluctant to handle/continue any more progress at the course for the chance it could all be in vain. Sure there is a chance we can get the second tees, signs, and alternate sleeves installed this year. Then if they get the park we would lose everything..well maybe not the materials since the club has paid for everything but the baskets and gravel out there, with a couple bridges being donated....So we find ourselves in a very tough situation. For right now we will hope for the best and plan for the worst. Forgive me for not divulging to many details right now, not sure who they have that might read this...we will keep you all updated as best as possible.

If you are a Goshen resident and want to help the Park, please get involved with the meetings and vote to save the Park...
