Thanks to those that came out today to walk the course and help build the teepad frames:  Jeff Armstrong, Tony Vincent, and Kevin Vincent.  We were able to get a lot done and have some fun!  With good weather next weekend, we should get some baskets in the ground.

For updates on the new course and the County Farm Park, please visit the Dearborn County Parks website:  parks.dearborncounty.in.gov.  (copy and paste in browser)

As soon as baskets are in the ground, I will post the course and details on dgcoursereview.com.

Thanks Greg, course is looking very nice. After a bit of play in time (and a parking lot) you will be set.

To describe the course, it is on the shorter side distance wise. There is a nice variety of elevation, and they are working to fine tune the fairways. It is a tight course, LOTS of trees, and seems to be lefty friendly. There is plenty of work to be done picking up the fairways.

If anyone is available next weekend I ask that you come out and help out at the newest course in the area.

It's actually south and west, just inside the woodline. Highly visible on Google Maps as they worked on it when the shot was taken at - 11706 County Farm Road, Aurora, IN 47001

Here's the Park web blog update: http://countyfarm.blogspot.com/2014/03/progress-towards-new-disc-golf-course.html
Gonna be really nice big tees!
And I think they planned some more installation this weekend, so everyone contact Greg if you can get out to lend a hand!

That looks awesome too! I wonder what they're doing there...
Might just ask Steve Walker about what that is! I know the park is like 300 acres or something.
But the (first?) course out there is to the west of the big open field. Obviously, they have big dreams, so if we support their course now, maybe there's some potential for the future to make it a DG destination.

I think some of that land in the red rectangle belongs to the park and the rest is part of the County Highway Dept. I remember walking that area and it's nothing but briars, very open, not as hilly. Would make some good holes.

The freshly moved dirt area to the left of the red rectangle is an old unmarked cemetery that was accidentally uncovered. When the old building was still the county farm home for the poor, their deceased were buried here.

With good weather we should be installing baskets this weekend. Keep an eye out for updates later in the week.

You should post the course on DGcoursereview when your ready to open, if someone hasn't done it already.

BTW that's a great course name

Steve Walker came up with the name. I plan on posting the course as soon as all 18 baskets are in the ground. Excited about adding it so I claim another course played!

A huge thanks to Tony Vincent, Kevin Vincent, and Jimmy Vincent for coming out today and helping finish installing sleeves. We got 5 baskets permanently installed today. The other 13 along with temporary signage should be in by this weekend.

Now I really wish I wasn't busy the next three or four weekends. I may have to just sneak over there after work one afternoon sooner!

Jeff, give me a call and I'll play a round with you any day.  I'll be working to roughly 4:30pm this week.   I got the first deuce on 15. Kevin got one but I can't remember which. Tony got hole 4.  7 has been deuced. 13 was witnessed being deuced before the small trees were cut down! 1 & 6 have surprising not been deuced yet.  No aces yet!  I heard Tony has the lowest score known of a 59 so far.

This course could almost be nicknamed the bone yard.  There are dead animal bones scattered throughout and someone hung an animal skull up on a small tree on hole 8.  Hopefully they are not human remains (Some were accidently dug up on the other side of the property by the county highway department when an unmarked graveyard was uncovered.), because the course would get shut down for a long time!!!!!

Greg, an update on today's round. Kevin got deuces on 1 and 6. I got 4(twice) and 13 (lucky approach). I shot a 59 and Kevin had a 63. If the weather is good I would love to see a number of Cincy players out there next Sat. I planning on getting out there again, it would make AJ Jolly seem easy.

Thanks Troy! I gotta quit leaving discs out there now that other people are playing it!

Tony, I know for a fact I'll be out there all day Saturday and Sunday.  Either materials will be in for teepads or Steve and I will be pole sawing limbs and mowing.

Had a great time out at Cedar Sentinels this morning with Greg, Tony & his brothers, Troy & Jeremy. Though Jeremy's deuce on 18 was very sweet, Tony definitely had the shot of the day with a classic "field ace" downhill from maybe 120-150' on hole 3.
If you want to see course pics or a map, they're now up on dgcr (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=6791).

Made my first visit today. Congratulations on a beautiful course. The summer time growth sure makes things tough. Loved the tee pads (11 of 18 in). My highlight was a near ace on #7. Other than that, spent a fair amount of time searching the rough for discs. Bring your accuracy!

15 teepads completed and temporary tee signs placed. Other 3 teepads are dug out and gravel dumped. Not sure when they will get completed. I'm taking the next two weekends off to play disc golf.

I know most people are playing the Big 3 this weekend, but I couldn't take three weekends off in a row from course work. Steve and I are planning on finishing the last 3 teepads this weekend and doing some trimming. Feel free to join us if you like!

Pavers won't arrive in time to finish the three teepads. So, it's going to be a much needed course cleanup/trimming weekend!
