Don, would you happen to be going to work at Idlewild next Sunday, Oct 2? If so, could you possibly bring the highwheel trimmer? hole 10 needs a trim down the edges. I'll bring the gas.

It's not a tree it's a small flowering shrub. It should be kept about 6' tall and 3' wide. Can the pin on four be moved? I think that it could be around to the right more so you would have to throw a short range roller. We could also make it a straight shot and farther out. The pin could be over toward the ditch and have a little retaining wall to make a level "green area" and anything past the wall would be OB.

Moving 4 has been discussed before. It usually also involves changing 5 as well. Fred has been saying he likes the course the way it is, but I think he's brought it up before. The adopt-a-holers on hole 5 are for it if it means two baskets & two tees on their hole.

Nick, Chris's idea of a green area with a retaining wall and OB is a good solution to Fours gimme pin placement. And, since one would be changing only the pin position,(not the direction of the original fairway) Five is not a factor. .....Brian, Saturday is iffy. It is best for me to get down there this Saturday with my high-wheel trimmer and cut around 13teen's long pin placement but, I'm going to the Pumpkin Run in Batavia this Saturday and, I'm not sure what time of day I would get down to Idlewild if I did at all. If you have a cell phone and you put your number in my box, when I get done with what I'm doing in Batavia I'll give you a call if there is enough time left in the day for weed cutting.

Don, I will be playing the Ace Race on Saturday. I would not be able to go to Idlewild until Sunday. I know you usually play doubles on Sunday, but, if there was anyway to get that trimmer to Idlewild on Sunday, it would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone else have access to such a device? I know Nick's store has one, but, I'd rather not rent one of those things.

The Idlewild rate is $15 a day, but you'll need a truck to get it from West Chester to Kentucky.

Brian, there is one way to remedy this situation and, that is if you can talk paul into playing the doubles at Idlewild. The only thing is Fishnet and Hank prefer not to play down there and, being that we just played Idlewild last Sunday, it may be a hard sell to those two; and we like to play a game of disc golf with at least six players. Personaly, I'd like to play Idlewild again and, with the doubles tournament comming up on the 8th this would give Paul and Phil another opportunity to hone their skills to the Idlewild course and, for me to bring my high wheel trimmer.

With the other stuff I'm getting involved in on #11, I forgot about the tee pad. Should I take out the bench and create a level tee that is longer? If I do so, where should I put the bench? It will be easy enough to do, but I just need to know how long to make the tee so that things will be consistent. I guess I could leave the bench where it is and add something past the tee for stepping onto after driving.

Chris, it would be easier to remove the bench and move the tee pad back about 3 feet. We could flatten the ground and conctete it in later then put the bench behind the tee. I should be out there Saturday and probably Sunday if you need help. Fred

I finally took care of moving the bench back and leveling off the area behind the tee. I didn't put any gravel down I just leveled it off and moved the bench back about 8'. I cut down two of the three trees on thirteen that you and Rob were talking about. The third tree looked like it would fall right on the basket so I left it for now.

Chris, are you playing in Singles Sunday? I'll go ahead and add you to the pre-registered list since your entry is taken care of by Fred for being co-adopt-a-hole person of the year. Your donation of your time and energy to your hole and to the course has been awesome! Hope to see you Sunday.

I'm not going to be able to play Sunday. I need to find a different way to make a living so I can play in some of the tournaments. Almost all of my playing time takes place during the week before 4:00. I just hope everyone who plays has a good time and enjoys the course. I think I should spend more time playing because I'm happy with a 68 from the longs! I might be crazy, but I enjoy having the opportunity to improve one of the best courses in the country. I know I've said it before but if many people didn't donate their time to the course it would look the same as it did five years ago.

Thanks for all you did and do for the course. The metal minis Fred bought us are awesome -- you need to pick yours up. Any chance you can make the AJ Jolly course challenge Saturday Oct. 22nd?

Nick, I want to plant some Azelias(sp)on my hole. Do you carry them and is this a good time to plant them? Or should I wait?

Now's a good time. I've got some big 2 gallon plants right now. Idlewild price: $12.50 + tax. I could get them to you on Thursday or Sunday.

Sounds great. I will need about 5 or more. I am putting them on the hill side by the basket on my hole. Would 5 do it or should I get more? Would like to put some on the back of your hole also to get that Augusta look of the Masters, at Idlewild.

Better make it all red. I don't want someone to think I'm funny. How many do you think it would take for your hole?
