I played Mt Airy today. While on the tee for #15 I noticed a basket in the woods off the right of the tee about 100 ft or so. Why is that there? Just curious. :)

That would be the long pin for Eleven. It plays across the bridge.

The basket I am talking about is along #14 fairway directly to the right of #15 tee. I am trying to picture this position in my head for being a pin placement for #11. I am not talking about the long pin on #11 that is along #15s fairway, half way to #15 basket and across the bridge from the regular and short #11. This was directly to the right of #15 tee.
Just so I understand.

The X marks the spot I'm talking about.

It is the long pin on eleven. The X on your map is very close to the long pin on eleven. The old map shows the number eleven pin in original position. Hope to see you on the course soon. Later, OB.

Thanks, bassman. I still don't see how that's a pin for 11.

We have 20 red mach 3's and since we are only allowed to have old 7 and 8 in the woods (which will be referred to as new holes A and B) I will be using them as a second pin option for players and will move them around throughout the year. Baskets A and B are on hole 4's short right pin, and hole 11's long pin. When the Parks tell me its ok I will rotate those to holes A and B and let everyone know there are back in play. Sorry for the confusion guys, this will be remedied when I finally get the new signs. Still looking for other sign design options if anyone is interested and we still have about 20 CFR Discs to sell to pay for them. There are 5 at the Nati shop and I have the rest, $25 each all going to sign costs and remainder for other upgrades and maintenance at Mt.Airy.

That's a crazy position for hole #11. And bassman, thanks for your reply but all Mt Airy maps have the current #15 tee in the same location because that location has never changed from day one.

Jerry, If you reread my posts you will find that I made no mention of 15's Tee ever being in a different spot.
I did say "The old map shows the number eleven pin in original position"

I understood that. I was replying to the "old map" comment and nothing else. I'm talking about 15's tee, where the original #11 is shown has nothing to do with that.

#11's long pin is great...and sometimes punishing.

It's easy to see that it's part of #11 when you are standing at the short basket there. I noticed it for the first time while on hole 15 and wondered the same thing though.

Does anyone know when holes "A" and "B" will be back in action? These are the one's that are in the woods between holes 3 and 4.

I will place the baskets for holes A and B in for 1 week prior to the Nati's Big 3 final event at Mt.Airy so those competing can practice those holes and the layout for the event. To determine if they stay in after or at all is a decision of the Park Supervisor with only my suggestions for use as a guide. In the future we will build stairs/box steps so that we can play them more often.
Anyone that hasn't picked up a Mt.Airy CFR Disc yet they are available at the Nati Shop for $25 with all the money going to improvements, mainly new signs, for the course. Sooner they sell the sooner we get new signs, in other words, help me help you help the course.

I just got my first hole in one ever at Mt. Airy on hole #7. The score card shows it at 380 but I don't think it's that far (feels more like 330). Either way though, it was soooooo sweet to see. A beautiful flight indeed.

Congratulations! I'm still seeking my first. If It comes at Mt. Airy, I'd say #8 would be MUCH more likely than #7 for me. Regardless of short or long pin position, that must have been a rush! --Jeff A.

Thanks. I always thought #8 would be the first too. I've been close a few times on that one. I never imaginged getting a 1 on 7 though. Unfortunately, there were no witnesses except a guy on a tractor mowing the lawn.

I played there last week. On hole #2, I hit one of the trees in front of the tee so hard that it may be paralized from the trunk down. Sorry tree!
