Idlewild, one more time. Playing the short tees again this week. Come early if you can. #11 is back to the old pin placement for the ace fund and course challenge while the new pin placement is under construction. It will be ready for the Ky States.

We had the Tuesday night ace fund throw off after the AJ Jolly course challenge on Saturday. There was $236.00 in the pot after raising a few bucks between rounds and letting players that hadn't qualified for the ace fund pay $5.00 to play. Russ Toelke came away with $80.00, I won $40.00 Cox won $30.00, Joe Javins won $25.00, Ken, Brandon and Don won $15.00 and Tony, Keith, Brad and Matt split $16.00. The highlight of the throw off was Jim Javins throwing a shot that ricocheted off the bench, landed upside down and floated into oblivion. Fortunately his son Joe told him to throw discs that won't be missed in case he throws one in the lake, good advice. Unfortunately I picked an unfriendly pro lefty spot, my apologies to you guys. I will try to do better next year but in case I forget, remind me before we throw off. It was a beautiful day to be alive. Thanks to Mike McGue for running the Tuesday Ace fund this year, see you guys next spring.

I'd like to start the Tuesday Ace Fund on April 1st(no fooling)at Idlewild. We will try to tee of at 5:45. I don't know what my situation will be by then but I will try to be out there if not someone will be there for sure. The Tuesday ace fund is where we offer free disc golf lessons and this year we will offer professional lessons as well. Free lessons will consist of grip, techinque and footwork. Professional lessons will consist of the same thing plus throwing on a field and a round with a professional disc golfer for a set fee. Meet at #1's tee. Come early(5:00)if you want free lessons.

I will work with "hole adoptee's" any time any where. For free. Once I get on my feet that is.

for those new people interested in what the Tuesday Ace Fund is -- You pay a $5 entry fee and $1 into the ace fund and then if someone hits an ace they get the ace fund purse which carries over when no ace is hit. You also play one round of singles in the division you choose and then cash (amateurs win discs) if you finish at or near the top. The Ace fund is normally held at whatever course the upcoming GCFDA monthly course challenge will be held. That gives you a chance to practice the course in a more tournament-like atmosphere.

Tuesday Ace Fund is cancelled due to the rain. I will have someone move the baskets on #3 and #8 on Thursday or Friday for the Course Challenge on Saturday. You will need a temp basket for #13 short unless someone can go out and drill a new hole for the basket and I can let you use my basket and chain assembly since I won't be using it for a while.

You're like those meteorologists on tv and radio Fred! who get us all hyped up days in advance of a storm and nothing happens. Everybody go out and get stocked up on discs - this is going to be the big one!

I will try to run the Tuesday Ace fund tomorrow at Idlewild. Tee off at 5:45. Meet by hole #1. A few of the guys are getting together to do some work if anyone is interested in helping get Idlewild ready for the Bluegrass Open. They will be there anytime after "noon". PM Tyson or post here if anyone has questions.
