I would suggest anyone who wants to play the course in competiton come out to the Wednesday Doubles tonight and next Wednesday at Banklick. They never stop at Banklick, light, weather always permitting, all year long, even in the winter. Jeff Eades always works it out for the layout to be best for the daylight situation. He also has glow lights available if you might finish the last few holes in the dark. Great time, always happening.

Since the Bengals have a bye week this week I will have the ace fund on Sunday instead of Saturday. Tee off at 11:00 am at Mt Airy.  Meet at Pine Ridge Lodge club house by hole #5.

Fred the Ace Fund for Sunday is cancelled?  I ask because the front page event is scheduled for Sunday.

Thanks Mike. There is no ace fund for Sunday Nov 16. Also I am changing the time of the ace fund to 1:00 pm so that I/we can do some course work before the ace fund. If anyone is interested in helping out, show up at 11:00 at the club house.

Dang, Fred, I wanted to come out today for my first ace fund of the year. Haven't been playing much, as this seems to be the year of nagging little injuries. I threw out my back Tuesday night, so I'm gonna try to stretch it out in the sauna at the gym. If it warms up next week, or my back gets better, or both, I'll gladly help out if you're gonna work on the course again.

Ok, here's the deal. Since I plan on doing lots of work at Mt Airy this winter, I am ending the weekly ace fund. The ace fund throw off is this Saturday at 1:00 at Mt Airy. We will play one more round and have lunch and drinks at the club house afterwards then throw off for the remainder of the money left in the ace fund, lunch comes out of the ace fund. Like always I will set up a basket and let everyone throw 5 shots at it. There will be 3 rings painted around the basket, inside the closest ring to basket is worth 5 points, next ring 3 pts and farthest ring 1 pt. Any metal/fabric is worth 4 pts plus #of points where your disc landed and an ace is worth 10 pts. Top 25% with most points will split the pot. If you haven't played in the ace fund 3 times it will cost you $10.00 to participate in the throw off and if you want to throw more than once that will cost you an additional $5.00. I will set a time limit.
I will be working on the course every Saturday all winter, weater permitting if you are interested in helping out.

Just a reminder about the ace fund throw off Saturday. There will be over $200.00 in the pot. We put up Christmas decorations at the club house and plan on having a fire as well. 1:00 tee off.

Gary Costa comes out the big winner today, winning the round for the day and the easy ace fund throw off. I think he took home almost $160.00. Congrats Gary. Of course Jeff Eades had to get some of that, taking home 2nd for the round and $90.00 for the throw off. Drew Miller and I tied for 3rd and 4th place splitting $108.00. It was a beautiful day and hopefully everyone had a good time. This is the first year that an am didn't win the throw off that I can remember. Thanks to all that competed in the ace fund through out the year. Pizza by the fire was great too. See you next year.

I had a very good time through the 2008 year playing the ace funds.
I am still burned up on why I was called out about throwing off for the ace money. Yes, I didn't play for cash in the actual "ace fund" on Saturday...BUT....the criteria for the ace fund throw off was, you must have played 3 times at the Tuesday night ace fund. I must of played 15....at least.

So, with that tid bit of factual information mentioned, I would like to give a big thanks to Eades and Cox for denying me at the throw off for the ace money. I did notice Cox walk by Eades and say something, then Eades tell me I couldn't throw off. Cox, you scared to tell me yourself? Eades, how can you just say crap you don't even know...its not your ace fund anyway. I had to play in the ace fund 3 times to throw off for the money...I played in at least 15. I think the next time the mouth opens, get your facts worked out...

Fred did say I could throw off, but by the time I talked to him, I was too burned up by the big mouths of people who don't know their right from their left hand...humm Eades and Cox...

Everyone have a peachy night in Cincy!!

First of all let me preface this by saying I have no idea who Meow-Mix is. Secondly, I will say that I had no conversation whatsoever with Eades about anyone and if they should throw off or not. Common sense would tell everyone on this forum that I would have no clue how many times anyone has played the Tuesday ace fund. Sorry if you thought I said anything to anyone or had any input on the matter. I would suggest that you get with Eades about this because like I said we had no such conversation about anyone throwing off.  If you did indeed play 15 times then no one should have been able to stop you.  I do appreciate that you get your facts straight before bringing me into the situation.   Thanks and have a nice day Meow-Mix.

Hey Meow Mix,
Sorry you are miffed.
Dave and Jeff are competitors but they play fair from my experience with them.
I have no idea if anything was said but even if there was some talk, let it slide off your shoulders/get over it.
I played for 1 month (in 1990 - I'm old!) and started to get the "MOVE UP" chants from the peanut gallery.
I hope you keep playing and having fun - that's what really matters.
Also, if you help work on a course you may discover even greater satisfaction - and perhaps a free lunch too...

You folks should add a name to your profiles! I'm not for certain but, I think MeowMix is Mike Boland, judging by him being the only one there that didn't shoot for the Ace Fund. If so, Mike you should have shot no matter what you felt was said. Great times once again, Fred! Way to ace the throw off Gary.

Well......it all makes total sense now. I repeat for everyone who keeps assuming that something was said. I had no conversation with Mike Boland and would have no reason to utter his name out of my mouth!

Shooting for next week at Mt Airy, 5:45 tee. I'm trying to get Idlewild ready for the Ky States. Knee's pretty good, I can work but I haven't tested it for disc golf yet. Scairt

The Ace fund will be at Idlewild the next couple of weeks to practice for the Ky States. This week #3,#5, #6, #8,#10 will remain in the short positions and we will play long #13. Tee off will be at 5:45. We will set up the long positions later in the week and weekend if it drys up a bit. Grass is coming up nicely.
Also the ace fund entry fee for pros(1 division only) is now $10.00($2.00 to the ace pool). Bring it(A game) if you got it. Am entry is still $7.00.
