I ran into a fella from the Williamsburg city council this past Thursday at the course. He said that they are going to take out the existing 9 holes and put in a 18 with tee pads. I was a little skeptical at first, but when he told me exactly what was going on, I was certain he was legit. Can anyone in the GCDA confirm this?

Guys, that's great info! Do we know any of the parks contacts out there or the website for them?

Chris gave me a tour of the new design last night. It does indeed flow counter-clockwise. Hole one will be to the right of the flagpole, #2 back up at it, #3 is old #9, #4 throws back right towards #1 fairway, #5 back left along woods, #6 along woods, #7 is old #5 reversed, #8 will continue into the woods. After that, you wind your way up the hill to a nice meadow at the top then back down and pop out near where old #2 or 3 was. You finish with 3 or 4 holes near where #1 was.

Work parties are needed 7/15, 7/22, 7/29 (the next 3 weekends) to clear fairways for the additional holes. Bridges and new tees may also be ready to be installed. Will find out starting time.

Must work Saturday, but would love to help in the near future. I live about 15ish minuets from the course...good to see an 18 hole on the east side. I have been out to the Burg before and there was a lot of land in the back near the ball fields for some new holes. Hope everything works out well...

I'll be out there to help however I can on Saturday. Anyone have an extra pair of work gloves for me to borrow? I've got small hands, but anything will do just fine. I'll be out there some time around 10 or so, and might not be able to stay till 3. Hope to see some more help out there!

Fairway on # 7, Big Green Tunnel, have been widened by 10' each side making it a nearly a neddle free zone. Yeah! Just remember, the Ducks are all lined up on 1-5. Better knock those down if you want a good score for 18.
