Looks like some of the kids in the neighboring houses might of had some fun at the expense of the tee signs on a several of the back 9 holes. Signs missing their plastic covers, almost pulled off or completely missing. Not all of them were affected though and the baskets seem to be alright still.

The City of Fairfield has donated the use of the shelter by the course for the Harbin Course Challenge, Deuce or Die Doubles (info coming soon) and the Pig. They've also donated the use of the shelter at the overlook (by B's basket/C's tee) for Deuce of Die & the Pig. Thanks to Fairfield!

I was reading in the Fairfield Echo today that Harbin recieved 18 acres of land in the area at the end of the sledding hill. Now if only they'd let us put in an extra nine...

What's up with the construction behind the water tower? Are they making a sub-division out of that farmland?

I too love Harbin, just because ive been playing it since it opened. If i would have to take a guess at it, i would say 7,8, or 16. But id go with 8. Ive personally seen 4 aces on number 8, unfortunatly none are from me. And for me 13, with no question is the easiest hole to ace. Ive had two on that hole, one was a sweet skip in ace with my Star Wraith that i lost. That distance just seems perfect for a nice easy drive right over the right side trees, and then catch that wind and swoop right down towards the basket. But that would be cool to know what hole had the most aces, if it was possible!

Played the course for the first time today and have to say it is a very nice course. Shot a four first round and one under the second par threes. The course was the most lefty i have ever played which made it a nice challenge. Felt the coulda wooded a few holes with what they had, but all and all its a great course good distance well maintained. Does the course challenge play the different holes listed on the Course page here?

Yes, we skip holes 14-17 (because they're short and the 4 easiest to lose given that you can walk from 13's basket to 18's tee.) Instead, holes A-D are added. A's tee is on the edge of the hill overlooking the city in between holes four and five. There's three more holes that play back there; I believe they're much harder because they're significantly longer, elevated, and hole C requires you to hit a pretty narrow (30 ft maybe?) gap

Just noticed that Drew Miller's 45 on Sunday is an official course record. The only one listed on the Harbin course page is the 'Pig' layout record.

Nice, surprised its just a 45. Course records need to be in tournaments or just need several others to verify?

As I remember course records are only from organized, advertised events. Very few have ever een played at regular Harbin (leagues, ace funds).

45 definetly not the course record, organized event or not. Just look at the course challenges from a couple years ago. Dave Cox scored a 42 in 07.

Well i know for a FACT Cyrus has beatin' that course record by a few. And supposedly some young kid out there goes around talking about a -14 under round, which i find hard to believe from him. He loves throwing about five discs per hole and then using his best drive. But if its not in a tourney i guess you cant consider it official.

We played Harbin last night (crowded). What is up with the grass. Seems like it has not been maintained in a long time. Fairways were long grass pushed down by traffic. Off course was very high rough grass. I remember when this was a very nice and well maintained course. Guess budget cuts have hit this course.

Harbin Day-Glo is August 15th. An afternoon round, a cookout, mini golf? a night round, prize payouts, and a light up LED disc are included. $25. Don't let Mike Sechrist win it again!

So where do we sign up and other information? How many people show up and what kind of crowd is it? What time is it from?

The cost is 12.50 for sign up sans disc, but if you go ahead and get the disc for 12.50 for a total of $25, that's a couple dollars below the retail price of the disc.
Hank has a sign up sheet at his shop on the desk. You can stop in and sign up.

If you can't do that, just call 858 DISC. If you can't get a hold if him, try emailing or PMing him. If you still have no luck, just pm me your name, phone number and email and I'll write your name on the signup sheet. Hank is quite busy with his family and Hueston woods, so if he is away from his shop, it probably means he is tied up with something else.
We want 70 people. I don't know the exact times, but I'll find out tomorrow. Guessing first round is in the afternoon, then a cookout and some mini golf, followed by a night round at 9:30.

I'm still having trouble getting the official details, but I do know that were are only playing the glow round now, not the day round.
I think signup deadlines may be 6:00 pm the day of the event and there is going to be a cookout and a flymart in the evening before we play. Maybe mini golf too.
I guess if you're signed up in advance, you could wait until 9:00 to come out, but you would miss the discs for sale and the food that is included with your entry fee.
