Hey everyone, I was gonna take a trip up to Cinci this weekend and was looking to maybe grab a round of disc golf in. I'm a rec player, so looking for more of a fun round then anything too pro oriented. I was thinking about Harbin, Mt. Airy, Lincoln Ridge or Pride Park. Any thoughts from the local players?

Harbin is a pretty fun course, Mt Airy has a club course challenge on Saturday, anyone is welcome to play in that, check under events for details, but a novice can play for $5 and it is super laid back. The other great courses are Lincoln Ridge in NKY, with Idlewild also close by. I like the Monroe course which isn't far off of 75 on the north side of Cincy.
Hope the weather is nice for your trip, enjoy!

Bump...Bump! We have 9 cubic yards of wood chip mulch being delivered to Harbin tomorrow late in the afternoon, someetime between 5-6P.M.I've got 4 wheel barrows, big scoops, snow shovels, and pitch forks for 4 but need people to use them and would really appreciate volunteers. The goal is to mulch around the baskets and at the end of the teepads to cut down on the mud factor. If you can bring your own wheel barrow and tools please do so, this way those who cannot bring their own can use the extras I've got. If you can volunteer, please call or text me so I can plan accordingly and thanks in advance for all of you willing to help out-Drew

Thanks to those who came out and helped, we have all of the permanent holes mulched excluding four, but should have that done before the round starts, along with the tee pads. Was not able to get 14,15,16,17 done, truck didn't come until 7....so hopefully we'll be able to get those done early next week.

So are holes A-F not currently there, is it just for tournaments?

Does anyone know who to talk to in the Fairfield Parks department about doing work (clearing honeysuckle and vines) at Harbin?

When you do find out, let me know. I would really like to restore hole 5's tunnel shot if possible

I spoke to Greg Morrow(I think that is his last name) with the Fairfield Parks Department. He is cool with us setting up a work day to cut honeysuckle and vines). He said that he was going to do a walkthrough of the disc golf course this weekend with his parks foreman, to see how the course is looking. He said to just let him know what day we want to have a work day, and he'll get his guys out there with a chipper to chip what we've cut.
So, anyone want to go to Harbin and chop honeysuckle? I am indisposed for awhile, but, maybe 2 Saturday's from today (July 2)?

Played Harbin this weekend because I was in the area. There was a manicured 20 feet fairway. The rest of the place was a hay field. Seems like it wasn't mowed since the ccs we played there.
Oh, the beautiful look out hill was totally manicured too. Is Fairfield taking a dim look on disc golf lately?

Well sorry to say but that seems to be 'par' for the course. We love to play Harbin but it seems in the past several years the grass is rarely cut. So a tough course turns into a rough course and thus we dont play it nearly as much any more. Maybe it was part of budget cuts.

4 or 5 years ago, every inch of the course was cut. I would imagine now that gas is roughly $3.50 a gallon, the park is on a budget crunch of sort. It makes sense when it comes to "crunch time"

I understand but it has been that way for several years now. Still love the park, just hoping they could trim it once in a while.
We have played there for years and I do remember when it was nicely cut and that makes it a fantastic course.

I was there on Wed 5/23 and it looked like it had been cut a week before. They were cutting the fairways when I was there (I actually had to wait for them on one hole). 15-17 were a little rough but everything else was great. I normally don't have a problem there.
