Who is coming to AJ Jolly Course Challenge this weekend? Post and let people know. If there are any newbies out there that are thinking about coming and you have some questions, post and we will be glad to answer any and all questions. Hope to see all that can make it out, looks like it will be a great weekend to be on the course.
I have one question for the TD. I was at AJ Jolly this past weekend and the water was down considerably. Will the OB lines be the at the current water level or where the water usually is? On most holes it is obvious where the water line should be. I am assuming the OB would be the current water levels, but just asking.

You know John, I'm not sure about that, I would think most people would want the OB to be just when your disc is surrounded by water, any other thoughts?

Either way would be fine by me. I think there might be an issue or two either way.
Where the lake should be might not be obvious out near hole #8 (I think). Also, the area in front of hole 2 has been more dry than wet over the past few times I've played there. Surrounded by water would be fine except for hole 2. This was two weeks ago, but there were muddy places out there. The kind of mud that is just...muddy:think
Maybe something like this. The weeds and junk that surround the lakes are in play. The lake beds (dirt and mud) and the lakes are OB.

Nothing is O.B. Just play everything from where you throw - with "awesome" shoes it is no problem to stand in deep water, do a cross step and fire away!!! :shades :smile It is supposed to be quite chilly in the morning though so maybe the water should be O.B.

I think any bank that drops off into lake bed should be OB. You really don't want people getting in the mud because there are places where you will sink up to your calfs in mud.
Hole 2 bank in front of basket should be ob but the beach to the right of pin will be hard to do anything but lake. Hole 3 bank behind basket should be ob Hole 4 bank behind basket should be ob Hole 6 bank running down right side of fairway should be ob Hole 7 bank to right of basket should be ob Hole 8 bank behind basket should be ob Hole 10 will gravel around building to left of basket be OB ??????????????????????
I believe that is all the holes where water could come into play. And to all those who question a disc on the side of the bank you bring it in 1 meter and play it safe but if you are at the bottom of the bank you are OB. Let the group decide. All we need to do is print this out and hand to all participates but include all the road obs for each hole.

NOW I understand what you mean. It will be a tough call with the mud. We could say if you are in the water you are O.B., but if your disc is not surrounded (perhaps in this mud you refer to) you get relief perpendicular to the edge of the water to a point where your group believes you are safe from falling into the water/mud. Sound reasonable? Retirement bonuses are not on the line here.

I agree, use the old-fashioned "surrounded by water" rule. I played the last couple weeks there, and if you try to declare the banks as the OB line or something like that, there would be some areas that are ambiguous to determine whether the disc is in or out.

We will be having the Tuesday Ace Fund throw off for $191.00 after the course challenge tomorrow. Across the lake. Pay top 1/3. Must have played in the ace fund 3 or more time. You can still get in if you don't qualify for only $5.00. I will set up the basket between rounds and have split the pot throws. Three for @2.00. Tell your friends. See you there.

Dan H. missed you at AJ. I heard you are having a back problem. Is Alex wearing you out already? On Thursday I bent down to pick a disc up, and my back just went out. It was dumb as hell. I've been lifting lately, getting really big. Maybe something was stressed or misaligned back there. I'm hoping to start throwing again Thursday. This is the longest I've gone without playing disc golf for over a year, it's killing me.

DAN, How did the moonshine work for over the weekend? You looked like you were not having any back pain at least when I saw you.

No back pain at all on Saturday. What an amazing cure. Howover, everything hurt on Sunday. It was the Elijah Wood (Elijah Craig) that did the most damage.

Our next Course Challenge will be at Banklick on Saturday - November 3rd - the awards will be held at Willie's (formerly known as the Courthouse), yes, they know we are coming and no, the server from last year will not be there, so come on out - for both!

Awards will be at Willie's Sports Bar in Independence (same place as last year, just new restaurant) They say we can order right off the main menu and they will have enough staff for us this year.

Do the top three in each division get a prize like last year, or just the winners?
