Played Oxford with a group of people on Saturday.  Once again, the university has torn up part of the course.  Hole 2 still hasn't been replaced, but, we can put a temp basket there if we want to play that hole.  Hole 7's tee is gone though.  The area around that entire building has been fenced off.  Our group walked around to the front of the building and played a 300-350 shot from the lawn in front of the building.  It actually works pretty well if we want to use that area as a temp tee.  Righty anhyzer shot.  kuhns are you planning on playing the temp hole over the pond?

I'm not a huge fan of that hole, but it does always create a bunch of good stories (mostly horror stories).

We play #2 across the street to 15's basket, it's a great hole....probably won't work for the Course Challenge.  

We've played #7 from about where Kapgun is talking about, that should work for the tournament.

Maybe use the pond hole, the temp hole after regular 15, and make it 20 holes.

Well, don't miss then. I have to say as the TD for the Oxford Course Challenge I hate to see a PDGA event in our area on the same day as the course challenge. All I have to say is I look forward to see as many people as possible at the Oxford Course Challenge. And Remember the Course Challenge is only one day and it is a lot cheaper than a PDGA tournament. I hope everyone is ready for the oxford course challenge at the end of the month. I went up to play the course over the weekend and it seems a little more overgrown than last year. I think all the construction on the course has reduced the amount of play the course has received over the last year. It looks like again we are going to play the over the pond shot at the course challenge. Since hole 7 does not have a tee, because of the construction, we will make the hole a straight shot that is around 350 feet long. It is a fun shot that will be friendly to lefties and righties(at least righties with a turnover drive or forehand). I will bring my basket for hole 2, which currently has no basket. I also ask that at least 3 other people bring baskets in case we have a good showing and need to expand the course a few holes. If we do need to do so it will be the usual holes across the street from hole 2 and on the other side of the hedge row from 3.

Please send any and all suggestions to my attention. I would like to hear from the roaring crowd, that is the GCFDA.

Yeah, Bob, I appreciate the gesture, but I think the added money would need to be brought up a club meeting, more appropriately, when the Course Challenge Series schedule is presented and discussed. As of now, the $ raised from lunches will go towards the local PDGA tourneys, and I think it's a win-win for everyone, especially out at Oxford, where your options for restaurants close by are limited. So, get ready for burgers on Saturday, people!

Not very close at all, it's not an issue, it's out by the road, I don't remember exactly where is was in the past, but I don't think it's much different. John - Dan Bayless will be bringing two scoreboards - are we going to need scorecards with 24 holes on them - just in case we have to expand the course?

24 hole cards wouldn't be a bad idea. We have a 22 hole layout ready to roll if needed. Regular 18, the three front holes we played last year, swan lake part 2.

I don't know how to correct this, but because we changed the format from 18 holes to 24, the ratings are really low for the rounds. Glad to see the scores posted, though.
