I didn't get one bite. Usually if they are around, they are all over me.

Played the course today. It looks like the city has done some cleaning up. The course looks good. Hole #16 is still missing it's basket. Hope it gets up before the Deuce or Die.

Don't get your hopes up, budgets are tight these days. I am sure Nick will have a temp basket lined up for the big event.

Uh oh.
#20's basket has been stolen.
Hopefully this doesn't become a fad.

We as citizens need to keep an eye on unusual actitives around these areas. Last year we busted a group at Woodland for breaking a basket. They were hauled away by police. People should also watch craigslist, I have seen alot of baskets being listed. I don't know if these baskets have any special markings on them or not or how to tell if they came from a park. Maybe someone should "mark" the baskets someway to help to recover these baskets.

If the person who is stealing baskets reads this forum, I just want you to know that we know how you are stealing the baskets and we are now monitoring Monroe at night as well as several other parks. Go on, take your chances. You will get caught.

So all the baskets are in now? I want to play there sometime over the next week.

I was there today. Beware there is a black stray dog with no collar or tags roaming the park. He is friendly and follows people around, however if he is near you or see's you throw he will immediately run grab your disc and take off. If you choose to throw sticks or try and lead him away he will just follow you for the rest of your round. Hopefully the owners find him before to long.

There is usually some kind of disc dog roaming the course. Last time I went, I had a little mop puppy join me for about 12 holes.

If someone wanted to, they could foster him until he gets adopted. PAWS animal shelter is right up Cincinnati Dayton rd. You could work with them to get the dog a home. We've fostered before. It's a great way to get involved. 422-paws is their number.

Yeah we ran into the black dog as well last Thursday. I figured he belonged to someone in the neighborhood back between holes 18 and 19. I ran with him that way then he took off like he knew where he was going. He was indeed very friendly.

I think the black dog does belong to somebody. I've taken two different dogs home before, and by the owners' reactions, it's typical for their dogs to go out and caddy for the golfers.

I'm thinking about hitting this course for the first time tomorrow or Sunday after reading about the upcoming Sumac event and the course on this forum. If anyone is planning on tossing a round or two out here this weekend and wants to show a newbie around, shoot me an email @ marc_wheeler@zoomtown.com soon! Sorry for the short notice! I'm new to these boards, but I've been throwing for years. I moved to the Nati about 3 years ago, but this is the first summer I've really had a chance to hit the local courses. I'd like to consider myself "advanced", but I'm not really sure. How do I match up against local talent (in case I like the course and decide to sign up for the Sumac event)? Idlewild (longs) - 81 on 7/26 (but didn't obey a couple OB's and not even sure I hit all the A baskets since it was my first time on the course and I was lost most of the round) Harbin - 55 on 8/3 and 60 on 8/10 (not exactly consistent... sheesh! I'll blame it on the heat :) Mt. Airy - 62 on 8/12 (two rounds of 18; 62 both times; getting that consistency back finally... yay!)

Welcome to Cinci!! Probably not going to be able to get much help today seeing as it's the course challenge via Rapid Run. You can print out a map of the course on this website. Let's see, if you play by yourself and assuming you're a right handed backhand thrower, hole 1=hyzer hole 2=straight and sneaky or a huge spike hyzer hole 3= could hyzer and get sneaky or there are thumber and tomahawk routes hole 4= anhyzer or spike hyzer hole 5=anhyzer or thumber/tommie hole 6= long straight uphill hole 7= straight low run hole 8= small fairway but there's a nice tomahawk route above hole 9= tough downhill left curve, gotta get lucky there. hole 10 long anhyzer or big hyzer. hole 11= hyzer uphill hole 12= straight short shot or a tommie hole 13 short and straight. hole 14= starts outside the woods and then goes in, if your drive hits the hill in the woods it will skip to the basket hole 15 downhill hyzer. hole 16, straight or a thumber/low tommie hole 17= almost impossible deuce, straight safe shot or roller followed by a hyzer approach hole 18=get skinny on a hyzer, 90 degree turn hole 19 run at it but before the creek hole 20 long straight and narrow hole 21 hyzer into the woods, aim just above the staircase hole 22= I've seen spike hyzers and rollers work nice. It starts straight and then about a 90 degree left turn. hole 23 straight hole 24= hyzer good luck dude, it's a nice course, enjoy

Thanks for the info, bud. I decided to spend some money on a new bag at the Nati and play another round at Airy today, but I'll probably try to hit Monroe tomorrow.

I made it to Monroe this evening... It's an awesome course! I have only one complaint. I smacked a few trees and found myself +5 after 20, then I proceeded across the street and easily got 2 strokes back (would've gotten 4 back if I hadn't missed a couple easy putts). My complaint is that the last 4 holes really take away from the integrity of the course. Why push the course to 24 if 4 of the additional 6 don't even measure up to the previous 20? Just my opinion, and it won't stop me from coming back soon to turn a disappointing 75 into a 70 in the sequel. :)

I like the last couple of holes. Also if you left them out you'd have to walk even farther back to your car.
