I played Pieradise yesterday afternoon. I met Alan (the owner) and played with a few locals. Alan told me that it was in the short configuration; so they had put in 9 extra holes to make it 27. Very fun, very fair to righties and lefties. Some holes are in a field and felt like the short harbin holes or maybe woodland mound. The rest are through woods and feel like hobson grove but less hilly. The baskets catch everything. I had 12 birdies and 2 bogies. Very fun place, but definitely more of a finesse course.

Pier baskets are the best disc catchers in the land. I honed my putting skills at Cabin Creek.

I would have to agree. Pier makes some nice baskets and at $320 they are a bargin. I think we should use them on the next course that comes into Cincy. We might be able to get a deal by buying 18 and we would support a local manufacturer, well somewhat local.

Allen Pier is a super guy and makes a nice basket, however, the baskets are not PDGA sanctioned/approved and are not supposed to be used for PDGA tournaments. We had a bit of a problem at the 1998 World's. I think the problem was only averted by the friendship between Ed Headrick and the Erkenbreckers.

I'm pretty sure spider webs are now approved, and I think there was cash that changed hands in '98.

$2000 to Greedy Ed to avoid the Erkenbreckers getting sued.

I looked at the PDGA website for approved targets and the spider web is not included on the list. That is a suprise to me. I was sure that it was approved. I thought I have played a PDGA event at Piers course, but it must not have been.
