I reserved the upstairs bar. The club traditionally buys $150 of appetizers. Drinks and other food is on you. I told them people would start showing up after 6:30 p.m. They should have a server/bartender set up for us.
Anyone have a list of the nominees for 2008 officer elections?

Just make sure the members of your posse are all dues paying Club members! At least we know Cox can't vote...

Don't forget that we will be voting on a new logo for the club - I will bring the old one, just in case we vote to stay with that one, I have saved/printed all the ones submitted, except for the ones that Donovon submitted, for some reason, they are not showing up anymore, if anyone can help or guide me how to get to them, I'd appreciate it! thanks!

You are correct Liz. It is my birthday, but where I come from the cake/cup cake is supplied for the birthday boy. Or in my case the birthday BIGBOY. Remember chocolate is my favorite! Maybe some chocolate sprinkles with fudge borders and and chocolate chips spread all over! :bounce

I'm thinking that 2008 is going to be a big year for disc golf and I have a feeling that a lot of you feel the same way. That's why we will need good representation from our club officers. What I'm looking for is a president that is active in not only chatting on the website but working with the parks to let them know they can count on us for support in anything disc golf related. I would like to see a president that will set up a monthly work day so that individual club members don't have to do it. Someone that isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. We need a president that is accessible and isn't afraid to make decisions. We need someone who cares. We need a change....

I think Fred is looking for a single, no kids, unemployed, college student (or ex-college student). I know! Send out an alert for Sunkist!! He gets his hands dirty. He's always at the park. The parks departments are probably familiar with him. And talk about fundraising! Woo baby!
Sunkist for president!

Paul, I'm just trying to get everyone motivated about this election. We(GCFDA) have always been admired by other clubs both for our efforts and our longevity. So we need to kick it up a notch, "BAM" this coming year and it starts with the president. I'm not sure what you meant by the PM you sent me could you elaborate?

I'm not sure what the hidden animosity in some of these posts (this thread and others) is all about, and I don't really care. I don't see anything wrong with Fred coming up with a "wish list" of ideas for the coming year, they all sounded pretty positive to me. And if one person can't embody all of that, so be it.
One does not have to run for office to express their viewpoints in this matter. Fred certainly puts his money (and his time, energy, effort, etc.) where his mouth is, doesn't he??
I personally think someone like a Liz or a Kevin B. would be an excellent choice for prez, and could positively affect the "change" that was suggested. But then again, all of the candidates listed earlier in the thread seem pretty solid.
I guess we'll see tonight....
By the way, Fred, what exactly does "BAM" mean? :think

"BAM" is a word chef Emerill Lagosse uses to kick it up a notch on his recipes. Ben, you do not want me for president, the club would fold in a month.

Congrats to the new officers:
Pres: Liz VP: Marlow Sec: Brad Anderson Tres: Pete
And also a huge congrats to Brian Kaplan for winning the GCFDA volunteer of the year award. Kap-Gun ran 3 consecutive Course Challenges, two without a vendor until at least lunch, and proved he was willing to step up when no one elce would. It's just a shame the award wasn't there to present to him. I guess the presenter was too busy kicking it up a notch...
