Yep. Yet another bomb that will give me 20 or 30 extra feet while giving my stronger-armed competition 50 feet.

And definitely better than the one they just released... IMPACT, except it has cool block lettering for the title :-)

I was on Discgolfersrus.com this morning and I was reading posts about the new Force. They say it is a Surge with a 2mm wider rim. One sponsored played stated he was getting protos in the mail. I thought maybe I would be getting some also and I checked my email and what you know, I am getting some today. If I get them early enough I will throwem and let you guys know what I think. Oh, and by the way.......Discraft ROCKS!!!!!

Discraft is certainly this best disc manufacturer out there in terms of a predictable product. Innova has better initial ideas for discs but Discraft copies and improves on each. Innova has kinda crappy standards when it comes to weight(ask Avery Jenkins about hia Japan Open fiasco) and they have tons of X-outs. Too bad discraft doesn't make a San Marino Roc my D.O.C. in warmer weather.

Will probably get out and throw them Saturday unless it's nice tommorow afternoon. FLX Surge SS 1.6 Rating Heard ESP Force was a 2 rating. Dave might have threw them already though.?

My impressions of the 2 discs. I really felt the FLX Surge SS is rated more around the .7 to 1.0, seemed a tick or two more stable than an EXP Avenger SS. I only threw them a few times with a slight wind. Loved the feel of the plastic, but probably not for my style of play. The ESP Force is to me rated more around a 1.3 to 1.5. More of a flip up to flat driver. Very, very fast with a lot of glide. Didn't take much effort to get this out there. Kind of reminded me flight wise like a slightly beat up Star Destroyer, but the ESP plastic felt better than Star. Has a rim width somewhere in between a Wraith and a Destroyer. I will make a spot for this disc in my bag for pure distance shots. Keep in mind these are my opinions and these discs may fly completely different for you depending your style of play.

Just wanted to add a little more about the Force. I snuck out today before class and threw them some more and I have found that if I throw it with about 10 percent hyzer is stands up flat and just goes forever without turning over then gets pretty stable at the end. So I guess that it is closer to the 2.0 stability. The thing is I can throw the ESP Avenger and ESP Crush flat and they both stay flat and then get stable and they are both rated 1.8. Now if I throw the Force flat is will flip over, but will try to come back. I am curious to see what Mathew writes about it.

Dave, you should mention how far you are throwing these - you throw "a bit" harder than the average player.

I would say accurately around 400 feet.

THe Force is very fast. It is a little high speed understable for me. I have thrown it very little and will throw it more Sunday. I was pleasently suprised by the FLX Surge SS. I didn't try to throw this one full strength and was getting a pretty nice straight flight. I could work it relatively well, and throw it on anhyzer also. I threw it more than the force today and will throw it also more Sunday

Mathew and David. When you get a chance..can you give us some flight pattern data on your force and the FLX Surge SS? I could care less about flight patterns on say #15 at Idlewild or #4 at Harbin. I would be interested in #1 at Idlewild since the fairway..eventhough wide...still requires you to pay attention to the trees on either side when throwing deep. If you had a weaker arm..would you throw it on Shot #2 on #10 at Idlewild? Can you throw either straight enough for #18?..or do you use my Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Putt method?..well you probably subtract one Buzz.
How about Mt. Airy? Hole #10? Hole #2? Hole #4? Monroe #6? Banklick #24? Gulley..would you gamble on a run at the pin on #13? What about working that gap on #15 and keeping it out of the circle of trees...or just hyzer bomb over the top? Harbin #18? Winton Woods # 6 from the longs?...just kidding.
I'd just like to know how controllable you guys are throwing these for distance.

What's Flippy? How would you know?
The FLX Surge SS is a little flippy but comes back in general. I was throwing it on many different holes. Tee-shots or extra tee-shots on #2, #3, #6, #14, #18 at Idlewild and threw it on a second shot on #10. At Mt. Airy I threw it on Hole #10, #16 & #17. I think it could work on 11, 12, and a lot more holes though too. This Disc flies straight and hooks up a little at the end when thrown. I can throw a hyzer flip with it, or play the gentle S-turn with it. I am liking this disc.
The Force I don't have quite as good a feel for yet but I must say it is really fast and does go long way. I threw it @ Idlewild on hole #1, #15. I have been throwing them with a good amount of hyzer though due to the wind today or the shot that was called for. I threw it on hole #4, #6, and #14 at Airy. Still need to throw it more but I am throwing very long Hyzers with it.

Mathew is right. He throws a great hyzer flip that I just can't do so I can see how the Surge SS would work for him. That is just one example of how a disc can work for one, but not for another. My personal opinion doesn't mean squat in reality, because we all throw differently.
