I know I am jumping the gun a bit. When is the Bag Tag Opener this year? Any idea-this was so fun last year even though I won nothing.

We'll be starting Bag Tags very soon. If we're able to get the tags in time, the kick off tournament will be Sunday, March 16th @ Harbin. More info to follow very shortly.

With the CCS rescheduled for that date now, is March 16th still the date Nick?

WHy don't you make the Course challenge the bag tag opener. I didn't realize a bag tag date had been set.

That's what I was going to suggest but the bag tag opener format is so cool with the guy shooting near the highest score taking home the most dough it was neat to see.

Don't worry John, you'll see that format a couple times this year. Yea, I think we'll use the Mt. Airy CC as the opener for the bag tags. The Bluegrass is only a month away & we need to raise some money, so tags will be available Sunday for $10 each. Weekly tag rounds will start shorty after that. Ben Shooner will be running the weekly this year.

BTW I ordered that blizzard from the universal power source so that I could slum it in Michigan and still play Airy CCS.

'08 Bag Tags are in. I will see that they get to the tournament on Sunday. Not sure if I can make it or not just yet. I'll see if Jeff E can get them there.

pretty awesome. the stamp for the tournament is great again. I'm still really fond of my "year of the locusts" wasp. it makes me even more sad I won't be able to make the airy cc.

Weekly rounds will begin next week!!! Thursday 3/20 is the date for the first business meeting of the year. 5pm at Northside Tavern, followed by the first Thursday Bag Tag at Mt. Airy. 6ish start time. $3 per week or $30 for the year. You must have a tag to compete in the weekly tag round. Tags cost $10 and are available at Disc 'n Dat or through Ben Shooner & Nick Engle. This is a great fundraiser for the Disc 'n Dat Bluegrass Open. ALL proceeds (tags and weekly fees) go to the Bluegrass Open until the tournament. After that all fees go into a pot for end of year payout. Please help us raise some cash for the BGO.

I won't be at Airy this weekend. Can we get bag tags at the store before Sunday? I 'm going to be there on Sat to sign up for the Bluegrass open.

I know i am just butting in, but what the hell are bag tags. Im sure you have already explained it a hundred times, but from what i can gather, its a weekly meeting of people, and they throw money in a pot, and play disc. And its to raise money for the Bluegrass Open. But do you have to sign-up to be in it, or do you just show up if you want to be in it? And im guessing this is different then the Wednesday Night leagues? Do you play Rain or shine, because today doesnt look like its going to be in the sunshine?

Step one: Get a Bag Tag (from Disc N Dat) Step two: Mt. Airy at 6 (rain or shine if people show up) or Northside tavern at 5 for business meeting Step three: Three bucks for the round and turn in your tag (money is for the DND Bluegrass open) Step four: Play Mt Airy Setp five: After scores are tallied, lowest score gets lowest tag...highest score gets highest tag

I think Ben or Nick should have some tags at Mt. Airy also, so you can pick one up there when you go to play the weekly bag tag. You can also challenge anyone who has a lower tag than you to play any time you want to. So if you have a bunch of buds you play with regularly - everybody get a tag and you can always be playing for the low tag. Usually at any local tourneys the bag tags are played for in those too. All the money collected before the Bluegrass Open goes to the tourney. After that it goes to the Bag Tag finale at the end of the year - always a good time!!

Always a good time is right!!! Hans and myself yesterday. Played a flash four with a couple extra holes. The tradition continues, no rain, tags were up for grabs. I think next week there will be a better turnout.

How fast do you guys run out? I'm on a tag collection spree this year I've already got my local TADGA and a Motor City Chain Gang one. I'd love to purchase one when I come down for the Disc 'n Dat if someone can hold on to one for me (if you think you'll run out) that'd be awesome.
