No, I think he may be bringing them to the tournament either later today or tomorrow. He did not leave them with me. I got enough shirts already - come on Liz!!
Ok all you ams who were waiting out there - you waited too long - the AM FIELD IS FULL - you can get your name on the waiting list. We usually have a few no-shows.

or, if they really want to play, they can always play Pro which also lets them play Idlewild longs... ;-)

Ok, the tally is in - if everyone shows tomorrow, we have 148 registered disc golfers. 95 Ams - 53 Pros. Ams will be playing an extra hole at Idlewild - have even more fun!!
Here's the list http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7318
Rock 96 came out and had a lot of fun playing. One of the listeners won some discs from Disc 'n Dat and got to play with them! If anyone has some more info to add on this go ahead. A bunch of people got to play and seemed to have a good time. Thanks for everyone who helped out tonight. Whew - I've got to get out of here!!

Blakely shot a smoking hot -15 during round 2 to take the lead. Jeff Mollyhorn leads Masters with two rounds of -9.
I noticed the OB sheet for day 2- Pros at Idlewild for hole #2 only lists in or across the creek as OB and doesn't mention the pond and core wall as the OB line along the green... if someone has time you may want to add that in and re-run them for tomorrow...

Heard Avery shot a 58 the last round Long to Long in the rain and missed a 15 footer on 18.

Yeah that round had to have been sick. They said he was pin high on 10 off the tee.

I just wanted to thank Dan and everyone who volunteered their time for the Bluegrass Open. The courses looked amazing and the tournament was extremely smooth. I also was very surprised when they said I won something extra for a hot round... I think that is a very cool idea that other tournaments should do. It was also nice to see merch other than discs in the payout which is rare. All in all it was a very fun time and I hope to be there next year to do it all again!

Craig, I'm going to beat you in AM2 in 2009!
58*? Why? Most of the OB's were marked as usual, but the course has changed significantly since the last 58.
That's INCREDIBLE shooting out there... just crazy.

Yeah, there is no "*" needed... I think that the course plays a lot harder now than it has in the past 2-3 years that I have been playing OR maybe I am getting worse :-)

Keith, I wasn't there but according to what I was told #5 wasn't OB across the creek(drop zone wasn't used), #11 you didn't have to putt from across the creek if you went OB, #15 across the creek is now OB and that wasn't used either (THAT SHOULD BE THE LAST CHANGES MADE FOR A WHILE). I don't have a problem with changing the course but you will have to remember to modify it every year to keep accurate course records. The BGO records will be different than the KY States and Master at Idlewild records. Whether you agree with design or not, there is a purpose to the madness. Congrats to Avery for shooting an awesome round, a 58 is very impressive, especially in those conditions. A true professional.

Oh well, who cares about course records anyways... we should really track the highest rated rounds in tournaments... that is where there is a system regardless of all changes that occur to a course.

I agree with Craig, getting more than discs in your winnings is awesome. I love the clothing and other stuff.
Thanks again to everyone that worked to make the tourney awesome. Thanks to all who work on courses.
Can't wait for next year's Dan, hope you get some R&R.

Thanks for the fun tournament. Idlewild definitely showed me I have some mental game issues to work out (second round I didn't keep track of my score in my head, shot a LOT better). Banklick showed me that I still don't know how to putt. :) Hah. You guys put on a great time, it ran smooth, I had a lot of fun and I loved the courses. I'll be back next year to donate to the Blakelys and Jenkins of the world.

Thanks for coming everybody and really glad you enjoyed it. That's why we do it. With Idlewild there is always going to be a new record until it stays the same for a few years.
Pete Johnson and maybe Geoff Bennett are still in town and wanting to play some more. If you can get on here and let them know. I don't have much time so have to go.

people who have shot them care ;-) Justin Bunnell asked me to put "58" on the core he signed on hole 4 when he had to leave in a hurry that year. Isn't Climo still listed as the course record holder for Airy (old, old layout)?
For Avery to shoot that in the rain and with 8 and 11 longer than before is astounding. hole by hole what he did was do-able -- but to put 18 holes in a row like that at Idlewild is where the breakdown for mere mortals occurs.
here is the breakdown of Avery's 58:
front: 3, 4, 3, 2, 4, 4, 3, 3, 2
back: 3, 3, 2, 4, 3, 4, 4, 2, 5
hole 10 he went over the top (i asked him if he was worried about the lost disc rule and he said no: he brought his own spotter and he didn't find that shot that difficult.)
hole 16 was a circle 4 -- he was in the creek
he only had one 5 -- hole 18
only got 4 deuces
Justin 3'ed 13, 14, 15 and 18 -- if i remember right -- during his 58 from the longs and he may have 3'ed 5 too...(?)
when Justin shot a 58 i believe hole 5 did not have a drop zone.
Fred, when you said 15 you meant hole 11 right?
looks like the ratings for round 4 got tweaked in the right direction -- now Avery is listed as shooting a 1071
http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7318&year=2008&includeRatings=1#Open
no Pro Master except for Dennis shot better than a 75 that 4th round so i wonder how ratings would pan out just using the Pro Masters as propagators?

I'm always amazed that the pro's seem to shoot some absolutely impossible scores. Avery's 58 is just insane!! I sure wish I could have followed that group and seen how in the world he did it. I would love to see some of those shots in person.
Speaking of shots in person, where was everybody tonight?? I went out to get in another round before heading back to Texas and not a single person showed up for the Ace fund tonight. Did the tournament this weekend wear everybody out? :-)
Dan, thanks for everything this weekend. You and the rest of the folks who helped run the tournament did a great job!!! I just hope my business travel works out where I can play in an event up this way again!!

Don, the ace fund was at Mt Airy tonight. Masters at Idlewild is June 14 if you want to compete against a bunch of old guys(Masters age players only). It's a good time.
