I can't imagine where there's room for a course there.

Maybe there's not, but I'm still pretty interested in there being a course there. It's ridiculously close to where I live. Should I contact them about the course and their plans for it?

I called the Assistant Administrator Skylor Miller this morning and left a message, letting him know of the club and we could help out in this planning. If I hear from him I will keep everyone posted on how to contribute, thanks!

Okay people, I just got off the phone with Skylor Miller, the contact person for this initiative, the park is about 8.5 acres and "densely wooded", he said it's similar to Monroe w/out the hills. He is very eager and excited about this 9-hole course coming to fruition and would love the input, etc from willing people. Especially - a concrete person - Adam Jones - Eric Brass! So....we've set up a meeting for Wednesday, May 7th @ 5:00 pm at the Fairfield Township building at 6032 Morris Rd. I need to know who is interested in coming, please PM me, I need to give him a head count. I'm sorry about scheduling it before doubles, but maybe the meeting will be out in time for some of us to head to Monroe there after the meeting. He has arial photos and a rough sketch of his layout ideas.
Also - Butler County Metro parks is interested in putting in a 9-18 hole course at Rentschler Forest Preserve just north of this park - I think that land would be great for a course. I will try and contact the person there as well. Apparently, they already have baskets.
So---are you interested? Can you make it to the meeting? PM me!

The Township offices are right next to the park. I'll try to make it, but It's doubtful.

The link to the article at the top of this thread calls it Millikin Road Park. Apparently it sits on the same property as the township buildings, so at this meeting, we can walk the potential course.

Well, the city is definitely putting a park in, whether or not it will be 9 or 18 holes is the question, a handful of us (Brad Anderson, Adam Jones, Jonathan Stupek, Ken Donathan and myself) met with the Assistant Administrator, Skylor Miller and a Butler County City Planner - Joe Schmidt for a good two hours on Wednesday night, we saw arial photos, rough drafts of a very good 9 hole course (all holes over 300' - tight technical wooded) and another option of 18-holes (will need tweaking), we also walked through the area of land they are wanting to use. Brad Anderson will be doing some follow up and getting prices for baskets, tee-pads, etc. The Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27th at 7:00pm, this is when we will make a presentation about disc golf - in general and about installing a course. The funding is already approved, and it should be more than enough. The parks department is located right on the property and course maintenance isn't a foreseeable problem. They are very eager and anxious about getting this in the ground and made mention of June as a timeline. All in all I personally think the meeting went great, the response from the two representatives present was positive. I'd like to thank Brad for taking this under his wing and doing the grunt work needed to make this happen. I can't wait to see if we can get 18 in, we all agreed this would be better, but once the land is cleared out, I'm not sure how it will swing. But we shall see. Thanks to those who showed up on Wednesday.

Skylor Miller has been out of the office (wife had a baby), that is the last I had heard, which was probably a month ago, I will try to contact him again in the near future.

Thank goodness. This club is promoting the heck out of a fun, free activity. The more courses the better. Also, these northern Cincinnati courses are great for meeting the Dayton players half-way and generating a friendly rivalry. Please keep us posted on the progress.

Well last nigth Ken, Liz, and I did a presentation for the Fairfield Township Board of Trustees and community. Everything went really well, after we presented we left, so they could discuss, etc. The disc golf course is part of a much larger project related to two parks.
We will begin to finalize a design very soon. I'll keep everyone posted.

Nice article in the Cinn. Enquirer this morning about this new course coming. Good job. Brad was the only one quoted. It's not because he's the best looking. Well, maybe better than Ken. LOL

The thing about the sanctioned tournaments was a mis quote... but I think everyone already knows that.
